I am voting for MAD MAX, because I have no clue who Wulfgar is.

Well, your average video camera is 60 frames per second, so it is greater than 60000 swords for every second it is on. You could fell an army in less than a second!

As a point of possibly relevant trivia, professional films almost always use 24 frames per second in order to get the pleasing film aesthetic that home videos and TV news centers never give.

From this thread, I learned that video cameras have a dangerosity of 60 kiloswords per second.  Thanks again, Mad Max.

Mad Max, mostly for patriotic reasons, as I see this as sandworm's big chance...

Wulfgar. Not only is he not bat shit fucking insane, he doesn't have a bad habit of picking up child side kicks and dead weight.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That's your hero. Coincidence he's looking at the horses ass? I think not.

We're also stuck with blurry, juddery, slow-panning 24fps movies forever because (thanks to 60fps home video) people associate high framerates with camcorders and cheap sitcoms, and thus think good framerates look 'fake'.

I'd like to say I'm getting off-topic, but considering how off-topic the topic already was...

Being mentioned in XKCD =/= true. People don't prefer the film look because they think it looks more real, they like it because it looks nicer as direct result of its unrealism. 'Fake' framerates are desirable, in fact. I'm not even sure where he got the impression that all movies in 24p are immediately blurry, juddery, and slow-panning anyhow.

Huh, I didn't know that. I always assumed higher framerate = better quality result. Also, I wasn't saying XKCD is always right, I just didn't know there was any actual reason to prefer a lower framerate.

Sorry, I just get riled up when people post XKCD links as direct responses to anything (more rebutting him than you as well) :\ Strictly speaking, the quality of the image is the direct result of the quality of the recording devices and what post-production stuff that gets done. You could probably make a strong argument for a cheap 60i camera beating out a cheap 24p camera, but with the stuff studios use and ambitious indie filmmakers use it's unlikely any amount of quality will be lost in 24p (try looking at a frame-by-frame reel of clips; professional films have basically no motion blurs ever unless it's intentional). The 'home videos automatically look bad' thing is really more about new families not buying $10k dollar cameras to film their kids on :P

Hmmm, I find myself conflicted again, as I just realised that Sandworms are native to Australia, and are just scared to come to the surface...
