Bro is only cool as a plot device. He's just there to show a certain scale of power, like the Kalvin scale. As such, I could assuredly predict him plot dying/plot defeated in the near future, because he isn't so much a character as he is an object to progress the story.

I would counter by pointing out that Rincewind has character degeneration - that is, the newer the novel with him is, the worse the novel is (Unseen Academicals sucked).  On the other hand, Bro only gains awesomeness as time goes on.  Thus, as time goes on, Rincewind declines further and further, while Bro will just continue to Ascend!
