I keep wanting to like this thread, but you people don't make it easy.

The Sandworm is a creature from the Dune series. It is a gigantic worm that lives in the desert of Arrakis. It is attracted to rhythmic movements, such as walking, that it feels through the sand. It is pretty awesome. People want it to win. ToonyMan has given it an auto-win in the first post because it is awesome.

I know what the fuck a sandworm is, I'm as nerdy as any of you (although I was kinda hoping it was a Betelgeuse reference).  What I want to know is why it has anything to do with this thread, like it's some kind of none-of-the-above vote in every round.

This is a tough one. On the one hand, it's a Bronze Colossus. It's virtually impossible to take down. However, Mad Max, being contemporary, might have access to the kinds of RPGs and other explosives that might start to get it's attention.

One way or the other, I want to see this fight.

Is it likely for Max to get rockets and explosives? Several of them? If so, I vote for max. Otherwise, he's just not going to be able to take it down

You know what, I'm voting for Max. I'm just going to assume he manages to MacGyver up some kind of rocket launcher, or maybe rig up an exploding car trap.

Funnily enough, I only remember him shotgunning a few guys.  There was that guy in the first movie, but he didn't really blow him up, just handcuffed him to a burning car.  And there was a dude he lit on fire.  Other than that, all excessive blunt damage.

If nothing else, Max can just drive away.  Sure, the bronze colossus is an immortal statue, but if you can just keep running away from an enemy you can't kill for the rest of your natural life, that's basically a form of winning.  There's a metaphor in there somewhere, but I'll let Joseph Campbell fish it out.
