They are both from deep in the forest, though.

Those npcs in baeldun have been there for a while though they were lvl 25 or so. There was a horde quest called 'Tears of the Moon' (?). Pretty sure his surname is new. Boatmurder, lol.

Dwarves need to make their own side, and pump the world full of magma.

I always love references put in games, I'm sure I've missed thousands.

It does get somewhat annoying when you find out just how many of the things in the game are references.   I think there's an entire wikipedia article on WoW's references.  Passing by and absent-mindedly thinking 'ah yes, that banker is a reference to x...' is very immersion-breaking.  :(

There are the Dark Iron Dwarves, a race of evil NPCs who might have the potential to do that.

Ten-to-one that's why they're NPCs :)

I suggest you don't think too much what you build and where. When ever you need something, build it as close as possible to where you need it. that way your fortress will eventually become epic

DF players invading WoW and flooding the world in magma?

Is there a B12 guild for WoW about?  There's a TF2 server, after all.

The bankers in the human city of Stormwind are referencing Olivia Newton John :D

Also, I've never noticed any DF references in WoW :o
Only in the game Runescape, where a dwarf named Urist tantrums when you steal his masterwork figurine.

That's pretty cool.

I would be proud to have my game played by some of the best devs in the industry, and get a reference in wow.  Really is quite amazing.

Guess why tv-tropes exists. :P Exactly for looking up references and stuff before going back to the shiny new expansion. and then follow a link to a different reference, which leads you onto something else of interest, which...
There, corrected.

I used to be a WoW "Hardcore" for most of vanilla wow all of the first expansion and most of the second.  I was one of those guys who lost their life and jobs to wow. Now I get to do the same thing with DF. though i just found out about DF a month ago.

OH BTW! Im a WoW lore freak and i welcome any questions about it.  Night elves (alliance = Humans etc) and blood elves(Horde orks ,etc) Though both Elven nations or sub species originate from the same point in time which was night elves and WAY before that  trolls. ANyway they were split during the sundering. during this event  the Noble Cast became the High elves (aka Blood elves)  the Royal cast became the Naga. and the proletariat (hoping i speeled that good) stayed at being Night elves.

Anywho in the end I prefer DF over WOW.

This is awesome. If only Dwarves in WoW weren't on the Alliance.
Like the dwarves would ally with orcs and undead?
And now goblins, for that matter?

At least kobolds aren't on either side.
