Foreverscape- A community story
« on: July 07, 2010, 10:56:40 pm »

Spoiler: OOC (click to show/hide)

Foreverscape. A series of universes, set close together on a multi-verse scale. Worlds, Galaxies, stars, all were in this hodgepodge of the ideas God threw away for one reason or another. In one particular universe, yet to be given a name by it's inhabitants, there existed a galaxy. Within that galaxy, there was a world. It was flat, like all worlds in that universe, and it was more than possible to fall off the edge, into the Nothing. On that world was a landmass. On that landmass, a rock, and on that rock, a boy. A very special boy, though he didn't know it yet. This boy's name was Trayven, and he was quite young and small. He had blonde hair, and dark eyes. His chin was a bit narrow, but his nose more than made up for lost mass. Trayven actually quite disliked his nose. His mother thought it gave him character. Trayven never wanted to be a character, it made him sound like something made up, a fiction. Then, his rod pulled. A catch!

It seems to be stuck. Hrm. Trayven pulls on the rod and after about an hour of effort later he seems to finally get a semi-heavy metal lock box onto the rock. Unsurprisingly it's locked.

Trayven's eyes light up with wonder. Along with the light, there is heat. Two red laser beams bore holes in the lockbox. Luckily, one beam had sheared through a hinge. Eagerly, Trayven pulls off the door to discover a glowing gem.

Quite suddenly, Tryvon found everything was as it was five seconds ago, when he had first hefted the box from the river. When Trayvon attempted to use his eyes again, he found them useless orbs straining to put out so much as a spark. A different way was needed to open this mysterious treasure...

Trayven searches in his pockets for a...
Knife?
Oh well, might help.
He begins trying to jam it open with his small knife.

Click.
The box doesn't seem to open. In fact, what it does is not what you'd expect a box to do at all. The sides extend on small arms, leaving perfect replicas where they began. The top cracks, smooth surfaces becoming deep valleys in the shape of a cross. The cross raises, and underneath...
A small woman. She looks disheveled, as if she had been in the wilderness for a long time. Her hair is a dark, raven black, and is a tangled mess. Her dress is torn and in some places, completely gone. Trayvon looks away in modesty.

To whoever gets this message:
Please. You don't know me, but I need your help. I am Cathrin, The Wolf Queen. Use the #%&@%&@$5 Portals. They are on Aires Island. Go! I don't know how much longer I have. The-

The message cuts off.

Oh wow.
That seems so familiar...
Anyway, a small raft made by Trayven sits idly on the shore.

Meanwhile a cloaked man from upriver observes, notes the fact that the boy has found the box and found the message. He continues to observe.

Spoiler: OOC (click to show/hide)

The cloaked man whirls around, his cape catching the breeze. He smiles, fangs bared. With another swish of his cape, he becomes a hairy bat, and flies off into the night.

Even farther off a man wearing a balaclava and bullet proof vest observes with wonder the vampire and the lock box. Although he was wondering why he is here.
Let's call him Jack.
Alright then, Jack begins to start a small motorboat while keeping an eye out for vampire boy and wondering what Trayven will do next.
Jack takes note of the pistol in his holster and his hate of vampires.

Trayven tries sawing the lock in half with his knife, but the knife has no effect. Discouraged, he drops the box on the rock next to him. As it thunks into the ground, the rusty lock breaks, and the door falls open. Inside is a pointy stick, a needle and thread.

Trayvon sighed and kicked the useless box back into the water, thread and all. He heads back to his village, without the fish they were expecting. At least they didn't need it anymore, thanks to that agria-culture stuff the village elders came up with a few years ago.

He never noticed the black shadow following him home...

Jack observes more, and the vampire attacks a villager who managed to notice him...
