New Zealand also put forth this guy. According to legend after the war if anybody tried to drive on to his farm land with a German made vehicle he would chase them off with a loaded firearm.

However I'm surprised there aren't more Finns considering the traffic this place gets from there.

Pfff. That's nothing. You know those famous "Speed Limit Enforced by Aircraft" signs? The Virginia side of the NC-VA Border has those. Everywhere. And about a hundred signs about how you will be caught if speeding, and how Virginia isn't like its loose cannon border states. They be crazy. But Busch Gardens is so worth it to deal with their crazy. There were also a bunch of railroad crossing-ish gates on every exit ramp. They were all up, for miles and miles. Such a fucking weird state...

As I've always said, Virgina is crazy as hell when it comes to their roads and drivers.

Personally I prefer the Vermont Republic Flag, which hails from Vermont's brief tenure as an independent country after Seceding from Britain and before formally joining the US. This flag is also associated with the secessionist movement.

Ohio. We have wheat. Also, a river. Seriously, at least your states have something worth putting on a seal. We seriously couldn't find anything to put on it other than wheat. Another thing to note, that is a sunrise (due to being over hills; there are only hills to the east of us) which I would assume means that is a river boundary of Ohio and looking into WVa. We ran out of things to put on our seal, so we had to make it overlook another state to add something not made of wheat. They had to label it "The Great Seal" right on it, so as not to get it confused with the visually identical "This Is Why Ohio Sucks Seal."

And after the crap which is our seal, it is understandable that we would just go with a generic rip-off of the US flag for our state flag.

Edit: Heck, LaBron James was even willing to give up $30 million of salary to get out of Ohio.
