Look at that hard boiled dude.

He'll walk into your country, shoot everything thats even vaguely coloured blue, exploit all the plot necessary natural resources and laugh about it all.

He's also Chief of Defense of Canada.

... Well then.

I'm going to say I'm American as well, although if you trace back my heritage...

Turns out I'm still American. Oh well.

We have no planes, though.

...So what do they do then?  Stand around in a field and flap their arms?

Get them on loan, have the best day ever and then go back to flapping their arms.

You have a loaned air-force?  Those are the happiest fucking pilots in the world.  Time to beat this F-15 like a rented mule!

How awesome is it? The RNZAF must have the best job in the world.

More seriously, when New Zealand goes to war, it usually does it hand in hand with Australia, hence ANZAC. And aside from that... uh, rather major fuckup at Monte Cassino, we've proved ourselves pretty well.

Fargo, ND, US for another few days. Then Ft. Knox, Kentucky.

America: we have more aircraft carriers than the rest of the world. Who knows why.

Because we remembered how many battleships you can lose in one day?

Also we had far, far more carriers in WWII. Some figure approaching a hundred. There's some thought in the Navy of scaling back the number of supercarriers for more AW ships like the Tarawa. Favorite ship ever, by the way.

Also yes. Credit where credit is due. Anzac troops fight like Scots; poorly commanded by second-rate English generals, sent where English troops would shit themselves, and then manage to survive by sheer force of will until the Navy loses a battleship to a Turkish field howitzer and decides forcing the Dardanelles is a retarded idea.

Fargo, ND, US for another few days. Then Ft. Knox, Kentucky.

America: we have more aircraft carriers than the rest of the world. Who knows why.

That reminds me of something:

USS Nimitz: "Please divert your course North 15 degrees to avoid a collision."

Canadian: "Recommend you divert YOUR course to the South 15 degrees to avoid a collision."

USS Nimitz: "I am the captain of a United States Naval warship. I say again, divert YOUR course."

Canadian: "No, I say again, you divert YOUR course."

USS Nimitz: "THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS NIMITZ, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES' ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE NORTH 15 DEGREES . THAT'S ONE-FIVE DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTER MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP."

Canadian: "This is a lighthouse. Your call."

Oh yeah, where I'm from and so forth.

That's my state's flag, alright.  If Santa Anna wants it, he can come and take it.

Old joke is old! Although strictly speaking, the Nimitz could just nuke the lighthouse and take out the offending reef with it, improving local trade routes. Isn't it amazing what problems can be solved by high explosives?

The first one still makes me laugh. Second one's not that great, but the first is hilarious because it's so true.

Know why Aussies take like 9 days off a year? Because the government gives them the rest for free.

Mind you, the lighthouse story has been told of ships back before ironclads . . .

I find that highly unlikely, since they'd be able to see the lighthouse.  The joke doesn't really work without radios.
