If there's something on the map that you haven't found, however, it will be marked in 3Dwarf.  I had [HFS] on one map that I didn't even know about and found because there was an odd cube allocation in a far corner of my area.  Flying over there, I found, well...

I still have never seen them in the actual game, but they looked rather interesting in the visualizer.

Yes, actually, I am trying to get myself banned.  I wish Toady would quit working on this worthless piece of junk and go back to teaching math.

My current underground fort looks rather interesting in 3dwarf:

Very pretty. I can only hope to achieve something like that.

I'm working on my Khazad project and was wondering if any of the fans of 3Dwarf could give me a hand, my map save format is incompatible with 3Dwarf but I need big complex fortress to test under so I was hoping someone could use Khazad to extract such a fort, save it to file, zip and post/e-mail me it too me.  I'd particularly like  a for that has Lava, water, chasms, rooms that span multiple levels and other diverse features.

Or you could ask for a savegame. ;)

..sadly, I don't have any at the moment. Huh. How long has it been since I've actually played DF?

Isn't there saved games available in the threads related to bloodline games ?

Don't know why you're asking here rather than your thread but here you go: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1004

It's got architecture spanning many z-levels including a gigantic tower and cistern, a magma pipe, a chasm, a brook, etc.

Thanks Footkerchief, I figured that folks who would read this thread had bigger fortresses that's all.

I cant get 3dwarf 04f to recognize DF40d11, and it`s not trying to get an update, just suggests me to check if DF is running.  :(

Port your map back to 40d, 3dwarf doesn't work on the 40dx versions.

I think it'd be better to just throw him in a pit.
By pit I mean "ledge designated as pit some 30 levels above the ground water magma" and that would,as they say be the end of that.
Unless a sword/axedwarf gets to 'em.. then it's rhesus pieces...

I don't know if there's some built in screenshot button.  I just push printscreen on the keyboard (or alt printscreen...I think that's right) paste it into MS paint, change it to a jpg, stick on imageshack.

MS Paint brutalizes .jpg images.  Try XN View.  I think you'll be happier with the results.

Use .png files, not .jpg.
