Won't wear w-equipment
« on: July 04, 2010, 02:59:15 pm »

So, I was playing adventure mode. I had some loot sitting around, so I figured, hey, lets go buy better armor. In fact, so I wouldn't have to deal with it, I sold off the armor that was getting replaced. I successfully did the buying-equipment-dance, picked up the stuff, and got out of the door without being attached. Now, my dwarf refuses to wear the new armor I got him. It is all "large" this and that, but I'd heard that dwarves can now equip human stuff... he is successfully wielding a great axe in one hand, as well as the (non-large) shield I bought.

Not sure how I can help you but I'll tell you the following:
Don't wear greataxes in one hand, they are more effective when held in both (Capable of decapitating Bronze Colossi even!)

Dwarves can use human-sized weapons now, but not armor.

Oh, so just put my shield away and my axe gets stronger? That's good to know. Bit of a tangent, I am currently wearing about ten bone amulets. Do these help in any way?

Dwarves can use human-sized weapons now, but not armor.

Dwarves have been able to use human-sized weapons (or anything that they can hold, really) for a long time.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Yeah, dwarves and elves are too small for human armor & clothing...weapons are for all races with opposable thumbs (but ever seen a dog that can grip a dagger in it's teeth? So many decapitated corpses). So you can either:

- Steal some other dwarfs armor through whatever means you wanna...
- Go the extra mile and not wear any clothing at all (or at least keep the loincloth)...
- Go to your save's RAWs> Edit your adult dwarf size to adult human size> Load the game, equip all that you need> save and re-edit your size back to default> ????? > PROFIT!

Ta-da! You'll be wearing "large" armor...don't know if it has any side effect though.

Yeah, uh.. you should probably sell those. It doesn't seem like much now, but later on, when you're lugging like a couple dozen heads around in your backpack, you'll have to make a choice between the amulets and the heads.

Or, it could be just me who likes keeping heads in my backpack. Go figure.

I'd /like/ to make severed heads a munition of choice, but since my 6000+ weight dragon corpse barely bruises things, they sadly don't seem like they'd be very effective.

Throwing them?

Man, I just like taking them out every now and then and soliloquizing.

Try elves, though. Apparently the smaller the throwing weapon (up to a certain point) the greater the effectivity. Basically, it's wamblers*>elves>dragons

*According to only one successful test, but you tell me that decapitating a Bronze Colossus with a little fuzzy man isn't proof of its superiority.
