Loved - Artsy Java Game

I usually hate these sort of games, but this one was actually pretty good.

Loved on Kongregate.

What does everyone think of it?

Nifty. Pretentious.

This fucking game thinks it's better than me. I am a goddamn Man, not a Boy.

I'll show you, stupid game.

EDIT:

The inertia takes some degree of getting used to.

EDIT EDIT:

This game is like acid.

Quiet. Ugly creature.

EDIT:

Just finished a playthrough. Yeah, it's pretty awesome.

The world also becomes harsh and cold.  Cracks start to appear, spines grow from the rock, everything becomes sharper, crueler.  Although it could also be said that total rebellion clouds the world in false perceptions, masking the true nature of things behind a veil of fanciful thinking.

Personally, I didn't really care for it.  It wasn't particularly fun, nor was it enlightening.  It did not instill any noticeable emotional response in me.  I did think that having the world change according to your actions was nifty, and I liked the art style of the obedient world.  But those are game design aspects, not philosophical realizations.

To me it was just pretentious and snooty, like most of the other art games out there.  Acting like it held some grand and immutable truth, and that you are a fool to neither grasp it nor accept it into your life fully and wholly.

Meh.

The world is sharp and cruel.  It doesn't become less sharp and cruel because you pretend it isn't.  The spikes still kill you if you can't see them.

Well... you can see the dangerous stuff even if you disobey because it's the only stuff that's bright red and stays that way. But yeah, the game just confuses me more than anything.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.
