Take on the role of a god and shape the formation of the world!
Accomplishing basic tasks, like seducing mortals or smiting fools, generally follows standard RTD conventions. More complex tasks, like creating life, tends to involve rolls for individual attributes or results. Consequently, it's possible to mostly succeed in making a race of powerful, long-lived, and beautiful creatures with hearts as black as coal, except it turns out they refuse to hurt a fly and won't stop offering you flowers.
Performing more potent, long-lasting actions tends to require multiple turns, and there are two ways to accomplish this. The first is simply to spend multiple turns improving the results you got last time. In the case of forging your own world, for instance, you could create a large rock, then make it bigger, then make that even bigger, and so on. This is also generally the default for when you attempt an action that's beyond your ability, such as by simply stating "I make my own volcanic planet."
The second method is to spend previous turns assembling reagents for your grand endeavor. This is usually a better way to go about things, and typically involves using your turns producing or acquiring appropriately-themed items that you then combine or use to achieve a greater result. While it tends to involve tools more than literal reagents, this is often the method mortal heroes will use to accomplish something they normally couldn't- gathering up artifacts or secrets to slay a great beast, for instance, rather than just walking up and hacking at it for three rounds. Needless to say, the components used will generally have a massive impact on the finished product, and even using items you acquired as part of the same action is generally preferred to creating things out of thin air.
The gods in this particular setting aren't especially powerful, relatively speaking. They can still do awesome things, but don't expect to perform world-shattering miracles in one turn, or be particularly surprised when a mortal manages to trick you out of your hat.
Gods have appearances, personalities, and spheres, all of which are subject to change. Spheres describe the general theme of your god- in other words, what makes him a god and not just an immortal, very powerful ogre (sometimes a fine line indeed). Spheres can change, usually gradually or through dramatic events, and provide subjective bonuses or penalties to certain actions. Spheres also tend to describe what any worshipers you have worship you for, and multiple gods with the same sphere often end up squabbling over followers.
Once other entities are created, they start acting on their own. In the case of primitive creatures, this tends to be fairly irrelevant or simple. They hunt, try not to get eaten, attempt to swim to the island you didn't want them on, and so forth. Entities can be individual creatures, such as heroes, but are more often herds of animals, civilizations, or even entire ecosystems. The actions of entities can be influenced by the gods, usually indirectly, but particularly pious entities, be they individuals or entire races, will sometimes obey their chosen gods' commands directly.
Deities are currently sort of pooling their powers, making the creation of celestial bodies easier.

Artfully arranged stars.
Aphronze, bright green dodecahedron sun, orbited on opposite sides by Bethrar, a small purple dodecahedron sun, and Gamthra, a small red dodecahedron sun.
Hoz-tar, a large banded brown planet with volcanic cracks and several massive impact cracks. Volcanic cracks are mostly geysers and small volcanoes. Maelstrom ocean filled with small, highly mutation prone fish in one region, with a few rivers connecting it to the geyser systems. Surface a severe series of cliffs and spires, with some light erosion. Scattered, occasional veins of minerals running through surface. Small grove of dead saplings in one region. Handful of chipper elves in another. White beast hunting said elves, but in a far away place. Vertical asteroid ring in far orbit. Rather large, impressive mountain range formed from remnants of impact moon.
Holy Agamemnoid, a crystalline blue planet of bizarre angles. Mostly coated in nutritious muck, with a few sluggish rivers moving things around. Hurricane-force winds of light. Small shoots emerging from one region. Field of shattered crystal, both its own and that of the luminous moon, in one region. Amorous elves in another region, and utterly omnivorous but not very impressive dwarves in another. Have at least found a sword and realized its potential, as well as sort of accepting Agamemnon as their leader, developing a rabid taste for elf murder, basic understanding of industry, and cultural aspirations for liquor. Pack of puppy-like creatures. Orbited by the crystal moon.
Crystal moon, rough blocky crystal shape. Perfect brightness for a moon. Orbits Holy Agamemnoid. Handful of elves with one sword and one turnip clinging to surface. Beast injured from impact on surface.
Ukulele moon with starlight strings and water-filled hollow, which has its own unique sound but drowns out the ukulele's proper playing. A few elves huddle in fear on the surface, hiding behind toothed worms that have declared the elves their cattle. Ravenous white beast hunting them on surface, currently heading in wrong direction.
Karus, slightly larger than Hoz-Tar (or at least was before the moon incident), similar banded brown. Rough, rocky surface. Atmosphere distributes sunlight evenly, resulting in eternal twilight and always-visible stars. Artistic and elaborate river systems, including an ocean and a massive ring-shaped extremely deep lake. Surrounded by massive but beautiful grey rings. Handful of elves battling their scaled and gilled former comrades in one region. Petrified white beast.
Fairly large blue-purple crystal orb planet, glowing with inner power. One or two dying elves on surface, plus a few elf corpses. Massive subterranean complex beneath surface.
Shadow planet.
Faint scattering of turnips and swords on all bodies.
Universe (new, incomplete)Stars are artfully arranged around the edges of the current universe.
Aphronze, a bright green dodecahedron of plasma, is orbited by Bethrar, a slightly smaller purple dodecahedron sun, and Gamthra, a slightly smaller red dodecahedron sun, each on opposite sides.
Hoz-Tar and Karus orbit around these three suns, on opposite sides of and equally distant to the suns. Both are large, banded brown planets of the same size, with Karus having massive grey rings and Hoz-Tar possessing a massive vertical band of asteroids.
Karus is run through with elaborate rivers, and possesses an ocean and ring-shaped lake. The atmosphere equally distributes sunlight, making it appear no different from which side it is viewed. The grey rings are as long on each side as the planet itself, making the entire thing about three times as wide as it would be without the rings.
Hoz-Tar is run through with small volcanic cracks and enormous chasms radiating from a massive, craggy mountain range a the equator. A maelstrom of an ocean sits northwest of this mountain range, just outside the reach of the chasms, and a handful of rivers connect it to the volcanic cracks. The band of asteroids cover about 70-80% of the surface, but do not completely obscure vision.
Agamemnoid is located in orbit of the suns as well, and looks something like a lumpy, oddly-shaped ball of muck with gleaming crystal blue mountains jutting up. It possesses an ocean of some substance. It is orbited by the crystal moon.
The crystal moon glows with its own yellow light, and looks almost like a rough chunk of gemstone.
The shadow planet is relatively small, and looks like a ball of pure black; it's mainly visible when it passes over something else, including stars. It has no distinguishing features otherwise.
The crystal planet is a light purple crystal that glows brightly from within. It has no obvious distinctive features.
The ukulele moon is shaped like a ukulele with starlight strings. Water fills the hollow, and an enormous radish grows on it.
A massive banded brown planet surrounded by a vertical band of asteroids.
The surface is craggy and uneven, with frequent canyons, cliffs, and spires.
At the equator lies a massive, ragged mountain range. Spreading from this are several chasms of truly epic proportions. They reach across an entire hemisphere. Smaller, volcanic cracks also run through the surface, mostly being filled with harmless volcanoes and perpetual geysers.
To the northwest of the chasms, just barely out of their reach, is an ocean consisting primarily of a perpetual maelstrom of water. A handful of rivers connect this to some nearby geyser systems.
Small, highly mutation-prone fish live in the maelstrom, as do whatever forms they've mutated into. Currently a large amount of food covers the bottom of the maelstrom, but only whale-like bottom feeders have taken advantage of it or dived that deep.
Creatures made of rock, consisting primarily of a stone head and four tentacles, plus a round maw, live on the land. They eat rock and have an interest in digging.
Several elves live at the bottom of one of the chasms, trying to eke out a living among the jagged stone.
A pack of white beasts lives on the planet, living near the ocean and subsisting on fish.
A massive banded brown planet surrounded by massive grey rings. Atmosphere distributes sunlight the planet receives evenly, resulting in perpetual twilight and eternally visible stars and other celestial bodies.
Covered by elaborate network of river systems, with an ocean just north of the equator. Abyssally deep ring-shaped lake east of that, currently inhabited at the surface by two small, interconnected tribes of aquatic elves, fanatical followers of Nirur. They hate their unaltered (and unknown to them, devoured) brethren, and have no interest in learning. They like civilization in theory, but are rather lazy about it at the moment.
A fairly large herd of white beasts currently sniffing around near where the normal elves were, in between and south of the ocean and ring lake.
Some metal veins.
Grove of large, partially aquatic trees between and north of the ocean and lake. Not doing so well, for reasons unknown.
Somewhere between medium and small in size. A massive underground complex, formerly holding an evil soul captive, is located in the northern hemisphere.
West of this is a large patch of crystal plants, with extremely tasty and nutritious fruit. Among these live several elves, who are working on both necromancy and healing magic, and are fairly adept at magic in general.
Numerous crystal formations shoot up high into the sky in several places, and among these roost dog-sized winged lizards. The older ones gain eyes that glow the same color as the planet, and can fire bursts of energy from their mouths.
South of the crystal plants are several elf mangroves, twisted mangrove-like trees with orange four-petaled flowers.
The evil soul now has a twisted and supposedly weak body, but is free just outside its former prison.
CreaturesHozlings appear to be made of living rock, possessing a head, powerful circular mouth, and four tentacles. They are currently spread throughout a fairly wide area west of the great mountains, and have enough members to fill a pair of medium cities. Their primary diet is relatively soft stone.
The hozlings have a rudimentary understanding of architecture and mathematics, and a good grasp of metalworking. They're fairly skilled at digging and stonecrafting.
Hozlings worship no deity directly, but view Hozac as sort of a father figure and extremely benign entity, and so celebrate his presence and generally listen to his commands and teachings.
Aquatic elves look somewhat like normal elves, but with attractive light blue scales and salamander-like gill protrusions from their necks. Their scales serve as powerful armor, and they can survive both in or out of water, though lately they've lived in water and come onto land only for specific reasons. Their primary diet is foul-tasting kelp that is everywhere in their home, though they've managed to find the decomposers of Karus' soil to be tasty. They've had less luck finding edibles among Karus' more recent plant life.
They currently possess two tiny tribes that frequently intermingle and interact, and are seldom very far apart. Both inhabit the southern outer edge of the ring lake.
They are fanatically loyal to Nirur, though they've sworn off their oath to not harm unaltered elves. They dislike knowledge, considering it unnecessary when Nirur knows everything anyway, and while they have an interest in civilization, they're rather hoping Nirur can similarly just do that part for them as well.
