If you q over a pile, then hit s, then disable bones n shells n skulls, then won't the aforementioned items not go there? You can do the opposite (disable all, then turn on skulls/shells/bones) for another pile as well.
That's not even an option. Like he said, it's a point of contention.
??? Why isn't it an option?

I suggest you don't think too much what you build and where. When ever you need something, build it as close as possible to where you need it. that way your fortress will eventually become epic
Because god knows your duke will demand a kitten silo in his office.

Do you mean that restricting what stockpiles can hold doesn't work?

the game treats shells and bones as body parts. you can specify a stockpile to accept or not accept body parts, but you cant specify bones or shells

Yes you can; look under q -> hover over pile -> s; you can change it on a per item basis. THere's a whole refuse category you can change different items in on and off. Some of which happen to be skulls and bones shells (oh my).

Nope, i checked with the Nutfallen save, the menu is still there. Maybe i didn't examine the options closely enough.

Yea, i checked that, and somehow Toady screwed up the options for it. It was working fine in 40d :/

he didn't "screw up", he implemented a new system, now, bone and shell are raw defined materials, and are no longer hardcoded specific items. it's inconvenient, yes, but in the long run it was worth it. toady will address the issue eventually.

I'd call it screwed up, if only temporary. To be clear, i'm using that as a synonym for "broken".

it's not broken either :P it's like a new microwave oven, you can't complain it doesn't have that neat button your old microwave had, the point is, the new microwave heats things faster
