Heh. I think I spoiled you with my OCD updates, Existent. He's got another few days yet, before Blackrogue gets his go. Patience. ;)

Though I must admit, it was a tad disheartening to see Nutfallen pushed off the first page..   :-\

At this point, i think a nickel 'n' dime for unwarranted cruelty to dwarves ;) :P

Out of curiosity, is it alright if I add my name to the sign list? I'm no mega-expert, but I don't brain-fart either.

Don't worry, I'll get a major update up by tomorrow. I had a hectic day today, so I never got around to it. Also, just a random question. All players have a week to complete their turn, right?

Also, I've decided to write my turn from the point of my dwarven avatar. Is that alright?

I didn't mean to sound pushy- you have your week- I just wanted to know when you expected to have it up.

I've got Part 1 of 2 written up, I'm just too lazy to get the images uploaded. I'll probably do it in an hour or so.

20th Timber, 1053
I'm tired of continually getting overworked by our current leader! All we do around here is work, work and work. Where are the parties I ask? And I have it easy! I've only been given a few other jobs that don't involve the military, but I've been talking to my civilian buddies and they've been constantly complaining of being over-worked. One of them tells me that most of them are expected to do every labour in this fortress. They constantly run around, being overworked from job to job. Not to mention the horrid engravings being carved everywhere from all the unskilled labourers. I mean, I know we have a socialist viewpoint in this fortress, but while all us labourers are running around, doing everything, our bourgeois leader sits around in his fancy engraved office and rests in his fancy room drinking nothing but the best booze and eating the best food while most of us have to sleep in odd nooks and crannies and eat the scraps in the food stockpile. Frankly, I'm tired of this, and most of the people I've talked to are also tired of it. I'm going to go do something about this!

21st Timber, 1053
I've talked to my blacksmith buddy and he's agreed to help me out with my task. He gets to work making some armor for some accomplices.

25th Timber, 1053
I convince some of my buddies to help me out, and the blacksmith gets the armour ready. I give them a few days to try it out and get used to it.

28th Timber, 1053
Today's the big day. I have my two buddies pick up their weapons and armour and follow me. We trek through the fortress carrying our weapons. One carries a warhammer while the other one inexplicably carries a pick, even though many other weapons were available. I myself carry my bloodstained battleaxe and wear my two suits of chainmail and one suit of platemail. Dwarves seem to be very inclined to get out of the way when they see me and the two troops behind me walking down the corridors carrying weapons. We stop outside of the Head Foreman's room. The two stand guard on either side of the door while I kick the door inwards. There's a small crowd gathering as I enter the room. The Foreman casually gazes up as I enter the room. He then spits up a bit of booze when he realizes its me.

Foreman: “Uh, how can I help you?”
Me: “Well, me and my buddies outside aren't happy with the way the fortress is being run. We're taking over.”
Foreman: *gulp*  “Uh, I can't let you do that. You see, I'm the leader, and I say you can't.”
Me *I take out my axe and place it over my shoulder* “Oh really?”
Foreman: *Louder gulp* “You know, on second thought. Go ahead! I guess I've been in charge long enough. This fortress could use a new leader! I, think, I'll, uh,  go grab something to eat”

With that, he rushes off past me, and the fortress is mine. I enlist the two chumps outside the door into the military with me, and claim the Foreman's housing as mine. I always did want a nice room. I also appoint a Sheriff, another one of my buddies and order a room engraved for him. Meanwhile, I set off to observe the fortress while pondering my next move.

5th Moonstone, 1053
The previous leader has been acting all suspicious like, and I fear he still has many supporters. I decide to keep him tranquil by giving him another, partially engraved room. Also, I give orders for my masons to start building an execution chamber. In public, its referred to as the “New Dining Room” and the masons are doing a good job of not attracting attention.

15th Moonstone, 1053

I give the miners orders to start expanding our exploration tunnels. Also, I finally got around to telling every dwarf to stop doing everything and instead focusing on specific areas. Now something might actually get done in this fortress.

1st Opal, 1053
The miners finish up the early parts of the exploratory tunnels and I give them orders to create a new dorm room, and expand our smithing operations.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

13th Opal, 1053
The execution chamber is going well, and I hope it will be completed by the end of the year. I intend to make executions a spectacle, and will have to find a way to get my hands on some clear glass windows.

17th Opal, 1053

Deler, one of our miners gives birth to a boy. I hate children. Remind me to have her test out the execution chamber first.

15th Obsidian, 1053
This was the first event that happened in a while. Nil, one of our “Reservists” (I have no idea what it means) becomes all secretive and runs off. Sadly, I was busy fixing up the fort and did not get a look at this spectacle.

25th Obsidian, 1053

The construction of the execution chamber goes well and the second floor is nearing completion. I fear it might not be completed in time for a New Year's execution, so I assign more dwarves to it. To cover up for the larger amount of dwarves, I issue a management order for tables and chairs.

28th Obsidian, 1053
Spring is here. I hate Spring. Spring means elves. I am told that the dwarf Nil has still not started his project, so I order a Jeweler's Workshop built for him. He starts and grabs a sapphire. Then he starts making something. Also, I order the miner's to excavate some more farmland.

8th Granite
Nil makes a cage. From one sapphire. That dwarf, well, he's pretty awesome. I, probably won't be holding any large creatures in that cage, but, nonetheless, its going in my room. Also, all the military soldiers refuse to train, cept for me. Nothing like swinging an axe around.

1st Slate, 1053
Migrants. I hate migrants. Time to go make more beds. We are up to 59. And I forgot to track the bastards. Oops.

14th Slate, 1053
The liason finally started chatting with our expedition leader today. Hurrah... I request pearlash for my project.

16th Felsite, 1053
Elves are here! Those goddamn hippie elves. I must devise a way to execute them in my chamber.

Sorry for the lack of images, but I couldn't really find important things to screenshot. Also, I forgot to count the migrants that joined us. What do you guys think? Should I just post the important events, or is this alright? More images? Anything that should be improved?

If you were to crop out the unimportant stuff, you could screenshot the in-game notifications, instead of just saying "He created a cage" or whatever. Actually, that's a good example- you could have uploaded the screen of the actual item.

Otherwise, it's good.

Looks good. A few more details on the execution chamber would be nice just in case. Oh and do be a dear and make sure my chambers are ready for me when I arrive.

Now is fine, as a weaponsmith if you have one, if not any old crotchety dorf will do.

I never intended for my dorfs to be overworked :P i just don't use 20 different professions.

Oh yeah, and the fancy room would be Minty's fault :)
