Actually, it's only published by paradox. Also, if you're talking about HoI3, then don't use the term hearts of iron to refer to it, because everybody knows the latest game in the series was HoI2 or Arsenal of Democracy. I believe many people have, like me, decided that there never was a game called Hearts of Iron 3 and if such a game were to be released it would probably be released in a few years.

By the way, is it actually possible to colonize the south pole in this game?

I'm pretty sure, since a unit has an AoE. If you sent a barrage of units with a lot of supplies you'd establish territory there automatically, then you could build a supply dock and industry from there, branch out, etc. I havn't actually tried it but I"m pretty sure it's possible.

I don't think I can even see land hexes on the south pole. On the north pole yes, but that's greenland. That... well... Isn't exactly green anymore... more like... iceland... But considering global warming, it will be greenland again some time soon.
