knapping and butchery !
is knapping kidnapping or napping with knife attach either way this has to be better than adventure hermit mode right? found out it's smacking 2 rocks together to make a sharp rock.
this was over hyped.
well at least now people can sell all those wolves with out not getting a dime for them.

Yes, I hope the next improvement is a healthcare system for adventurers. That being doctors and self-treatment. Biggest need at the moment.

There were, ah, three new commands. Can't definitively remember what they are, check the file changes text file that came with your DF. Might be x (action), c (create), and b (butcher). For a sharp rock, you need a couple rocks, and you need to hold them, can't remember if they have to be in your hands or just your inventory (probably inventory).

That wasn't "kidnapping," that was just "knapping," which is apparently "the act of banging a couple chunks of rock together to make one of them sharper."

Yeah, I'm having trouble getting consistent butchery. I only managed it once and haven't again.

I have yet to successfully knap.

Okay, world finally generated and just tried it myself. You have to hold one rock in one hand, and one in the other. Stupidly.

Once you've figured out how to do that, press (x) to open a menu. Select the (c)reate option, and then push the RIGHT BUTTON. Right arrow, 6 on the numpad, etc. Took me a while to figure that out.

And currently, you can't butcher unless you're hungry.

EDIT: Either that or the "You are not that hungry" means that I'd have to be starving before it lets me butcher a human corpse.

Maybe you can't butcher human corpses.

Also, I cannot knap, still. Do the rocks have to be not small? I assumed any rock picked up off the ground would do.

You kneed to hold them both in either hand, as far as I know.
