Heh, I also hacked my Wii just for the homebrew software and not for running copied games.
I haven't even gotten around to install a bootloader, yet, and I probably never will.
The first thing that came to mind after reading this thread definetly is "
Harmonium".
Seriously, I can waste hours with this crap. Especially if you are a bit familiar with Conway's Game of Life, you can have some funky fun. Most basic elements for that would probably be the blinkers. I love to set it so the timeline needs to pass the whole table before the next generation is calculated, so basically you create a morphing piece of (very very simple) music. Like so many people have said before me... hard to explain, easy to use. Give it a whirl, you probably won't regret it
Alright, I see you already have powder, which I really do enjoy on the Wii, I just wish I had an LCD screen, because CRT+Powder gives me bleeding eyeballs.
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/ShootMii looks like an alright Scorched Earth clone, but I havent tried myself. If you do, let me know how it is. I don't have the time atm.
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/SDL_Sopwith Just like the old CGA Sopwith Camel for the PC. AWFUL sounds (just like the original) and I LOVE it. (Please dont use this as an argument to dismiss all my other suggestions
)
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Portii and
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/StillAliveWii are both 2D lowtech portal clones, but hey, free and quick to try. I liked them
I didnt try
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Rick_Dangerous_Wii, but I played the original (?) on the Amiga, and I really liked it. Again, if you try, lemme know how it is.
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Supersonic_Wii decentish rhythym game, a genre I loathe, but if you're into those, maybe?
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/ScummVM You can always find a use for the Scumm Engine, probably. Being able to play your old Lucasarts adventures on the Wii, that is something, isnt it? You just need the proper files to plug into that engine. Too bad I cant find my Full Throttle CD.
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/The_Ur-Quan_Masters Also haven't tried it on the Wii, but hey, Ur-Quan Masters is GREAT.
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Bash_The_Castle Didnt try on wii (Again) but flash game was a decent timekiller for 2 hours. Some people love it.
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Helii Probably my most favourite one button game for the wii.
You probably guessed it, I almost exclusively use
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/List_of_homebrew_games and it served me well so far.
Have fun.
Oh, and let me say it again: TRY HARMONIUM. it was so worth it to install the homebrew channel just for this crappy little toy.
