So apparently demons can have babies. This is a most troubling development.

It's the fact that the demon was born in 227 - normally demons are "[one of] the only ones of their kind".

Apparently though, this was a mook demon, one from the underworld.

I'm shocked that it was a) roaming the desert b) IT APPEARED AFTER A DRUNK WAS SLAIN AND TOOK HOLY VENGEANCE ON THE SCORPIONS and c) it was BORN

Thats just the way the description was set up.

Did you open up hell or something in a fort? Thats the logical place it would have come from.
