I advocate the use of NPR, they seem unbiased, and geared towards news, not opinions.

They're kind of softball compared to the BBC.

I'm hard of hearing, so unless they captioned the radio, I wouldn't be able to hear whats being said.

I do have to wonder what these spies were actually supposed to accomplish.  Apparently they were just supposed to integrate into American society and befriend government and defense contract workers to try to peal secrets out of them.  Which is a considerably lower caliber of espionage than I expect from the goddamn Russians.

Also worth noting, Obama knew (as he should) about this whole sting operation while he was out eating soft-serve and talking Twitter with Medvedev the other day.  Cool fuckin' customer, that Obama.  And except for Putin himself, the Russian don't seem to broken up about it.  Rooting out each other's spies while peace-talking is what America and Russia just do.

Y'all are still missing the important part of the story.  According to media consensus, one of the spies is damn foxySupposedly, anyway.  Compared to the usual crowd?

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

That's actually a very large part of what espionage is and has always been. It's not James Bond-esque "sneak into a secret lab through the air ducts" shit.

I'm surprised too. I thought only terrorists operated in cells that lived together. I thought good spy work was going in alone, getting a job in a sensitive area, and collecting data for as long as you could without being discovered. Not "sneak through the ducts" espionage but "get a job at Immigration and get access to memos about overall security flaws."

So yeah. I was a little puzzled too, it's not often you catch one spy, let alone...11? At once. The organization seems closer to an insurgency unit than an espionage outfit.

Apparently they now only have 10 in custody. The 11th somehow got out on bail, and suprise suprise, can't be found.

This just gets better and better... It's exitted the realm of James Bond films and is now entering the territory of spy comedy films.

Tracked them over time is the answer I believe...  They got 11 because they did not just run in storming the place as soon as they found out 1 person was a Russian spy.

That 1 spy ended up contacting another spy and so on...

The Cylons only had to befriend one schmuck working on a defense contract to genocide the entire human race.

Espionage is more active after the cold war than before it, as evidenced by the increasing number of numbers stations.

So a summary of what we know so far:
A spy ring consisting of at least 11 people. One of whom looks like a model. They came to the US over a decade ago to gather intelligence about US policy and/or nuclear strategy. They all got jobs which wouldn't help them acquire said knowledge, nor did they have any ties to such sources of information. They pass information through all sorts of means, including invisible ink and encryption within images. They gave money to one another by burrying it and having the other dig it up. They were caught, but one somehow got out on bail and skipped town.

If that's not a cliche spy comedy right there, I don't know what is.
