intricate mining designation

during my past expieriences ive found it trouble to designate every z=level to be channeled serperatley, so i thought of this


i think it would be a dandy to be able to make miners dig in a certain pattern that you wish, top to bottem, left to right, up to down, ect. then get more left to right and top to bottem,

i believe this would simply be the BEST way to eliminate hassle for stopping cave ins

if your miners cant find a path to do your bidding, they will start at the closest point to the beginning and dig the most direct route

also.. is it possibly to designate X,Y, and Z coordinates, to create a 3D mining/cutting/building square? if it is then it shal be a godsend to add..

any thoughts?
