Every time one of these 'lets play on steam' threads comes up, it is requested that people join DFC. I enjoy DFC, I just don't like the event popups. Other people have voiced the same opinion, no need to get snippy about it. Is there a way to simply disable event popups? I haven't found one.

Wow, he's so polite all of a sudden.

Alright, it's really simple. You go to Steam. Then you click on the community tab, and then groups tab inside community. Then you find Dwarf Fortress Community and next to it will be the words "Leave group". If you click that button, it will disable event popups. But only from the DFC though, sad . There's no way to remove them from Steam as a whole. Sigh... the dredges of humanity that... If only we lived better lives we could have avoided such atrocities. Now we are subjected to the endless torment that is Steam events.

Anyhow, I got Defcon as part of the Introversion pack on Steam, it was $5 again but this time I have a credit card. So, I loaded it up, and it said I didn't have a a valid key and it was the demo version of the game. I paid for it as part of the pack, what gives? Anybody had this problem/know how to fix it?
