That brings me to an additional claim about my state's beaches. When I was on the sandbar of one shoreline, the crabs attacked my toes. They seriously were following me around and pinching my toes. Friggin weird.

Beaches around here are just eternally cold. No matter what. It could be 100 degrees in the city, but as soon as you step up to the ocean, it drops to about -40. Or at least what feels like it, heh.

Yes, but everyone has a tan appropriate to the amount of time they spend in his light. If you need a tan to prevent burning... then you probably already have one.

I have never heard of anyone advocating female (or male) genital mutilation... Are you talking about circumcision (sp), or peircings? because a lot of guys don't care or don't like peircings and circumcision actually helps keep it clean...

I'm sorta undecided on tans. I mean, Chutney is right, that's basically why I want one (to look good) but it's dangerous.

I don't really understand the attraction of tans myself.  I mean, pasty white looks kinda weird, but as long as Caucasian means any amount of sun exposure, it all seems about the same.  Not to mention all that sun beats up your skin.  I find crispy overexposure and rampant freckling much less appealing than pallor.  All that's out the window for non-White people of course.

Tanning looks great as a way of not being glaringly white. If you appear biolumeniscent in the sunlight, it's a good idea to get a little darker. Of course if you're that cave-inhabitingly white, it's best to not stay out for very long at all.

I'm not sure which Carolina Myrtle Beach is, but I've been to both, and they were okay. I mean when you're on vacation, few beaches are bad, but living there may be a different story.

I was mighty angry that those devious Australians made their beaches cold while I was on my Fiji, NZ, Australia, hawaii trip. It was really cold in Australia, yet there was STILL one die-hard Aussie surfing in their July weather.

Ohio has no oceans :P, thus no real beaches, but we do have The Beach, which is a big waterpark.

We have Cowan Lake which has a beach, but it also has jellyfish.

Oh, and rednecks, which are kind of like jellyfish in that they're squishy and drift around.
