The rest protest because the G20 usually play anlong with the corporation, and not with the poeples.

Playing along with the corporations instead of the people?

I put it to you that giving people what they want is precisely what a government should not do. If people always wanted the right thing, then there would be no need for a government at all - people could be left to their own devices and all would be fine.

It is because people want to do things which they shouldn't which is why the government exists. I would say that the purpose of the government is to maximise the total benefit of all those whom it governs. It does this by preventing people from doing things which benefit themselves at the cost of others (e.g. thievery) and things which do good in the short run, but harm in the long run (e.g. drugs).

Although siding with corporations, as you put it, is siding with the few over the many, corporations are a lot more rational and logical in what they want. There is a considerable amount of trickle down involved, too - If a corporation is based in a country, then benefits to that corporation will, in the long run, be benefits to the people in the country.

You're joking right? Is democracy an alien concept to you?
Siding with corporations doesn't benefit anyone buit those who own the corporations, and the few that are well paid by them.

If by "rational and logical" you mean "concerned with maximizing profit for minimal cost", then you're absolutely right. And what's good for the national corporations is good for the country, and therefore good for the people.

Which is a disgustingly macro-tastic way of looking at it, to be honest, but hey, whatever works. Captalism forevah!

well, economic growth is good, that is certain. That being said, nodding to everything proposed by corporations is not necessarily the best way to go around this. As recent events prove.

BP didn't so much "propose" as it did "criminally neglect".

Bp "proposed" deregulation of drilling. And yes, that could not happen, in the north sea. Guess why.

I only read the first page, but nobody seemed to touch upon the fact of how much money is going into the G20. That's what a lot of people are protesting.

Quote
Fake lake: $1.9 million on a “marketing pavilion” at the Toronto media centre that includes a fake lake, canoes, giant screen TV, bar, replica of the Toronto Stock Exchange, and Muskoka chairs.

Port-a-potties: $416,387 for 600 portable toilets near the G8 site outside Huntsville, Ont.
Big rock: $194,000 for a Welcome Granite Stone in Parry Sound, about 80 km from the G8 summit.

Sidewalks: $125,000 to brick over sidewalks and build a band shell in Sundridge, 60 kilometres from the G8 summit.

Decorations: $167,000 to hire a decorator and develop a “fine arts strategy” for the G8 and G20 summits.

Landscaping: $745,000 to spruce up the downtowns of Rosseau, Hum phrey and Orrville — far from the G8 summit, where dignitaries have no intention of travelling.

Food safety: $1.2 million for Health Canada, mainly to make sure the food eaten by the dignitaries and their entourages is safe.
a lot of people feel that that should be spent on welfare, health care, child care etc.
a lot of people there are anti-poverty activists. then there are the anarchists who have a wetdream of walking through the streets hurling molotovs and making a big hooey and those are the people who are turning these into riots because they are big dumb babies.

That adds up to roughly $4.75 million dollars. Although that seems like a lot to the average person, and anybody who had that amount would consider themselves rich, on a governmental scale it is an absolute pittance. Most people cannot conceive the scale of what governments spend on things, and so they when they see numbers like this, they overreact.

You are wrong, people with wet dreams of lighting cars for shits and giggles are despised by true anarchists. You might as well call them lolarchists.

The point is that there is no point. Point made.
My point is that the point that you were trying to make was, as I'd like to point out, probably more or less the same point as I tried to make.
That's what I get for not reading other people's points.

I'd go with this. It's almost nothing, and even the prices there are probably exaggerated. Even a 1% increase in productivity for a few billion dollar companies should cover for that, especially to any group of people whose food costs $1.2M over a few days.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I hope you don't seriously believe this is the entirety of the G20 summit's economic impact.  Subtle humor (e.g. sarcasm, satire) doesn't carry well over the internet, especially without emoticons.
