aaah. ok. I am not using the starterpack. Not sure if they inserted the script already. You can check the "hack/script" folder, if there is a soundsense.lua to find.  If not, then you know the cause of the missing sounds.

soundsense\dfhack\scripts <- grab the soundsense.lua


df_42_06_win\hack\scripts <- place it here

and when you are running the game, just type in "soundsense" in dfhack. you then also recieve the skill improved info for skill level 5, 10 and 15 (I rewrote it in my game, so I get all skill increases in my log)

Whoops, apparently I jumped the gun by a few days - the next release of DFHack will have logging for soundsense built-in, but I skipped adding and enabling the script in this one :/

it's cool, maybe it's better do remove the sounds and announcements for skill rusting

imagine a fort with 100 dorfs getting potash making rusty...

So have some songs been removed? ???
i haven't heard "Rhapsody - the village of dwarves" since i last updated the LNP and redpnwloaded the sounds library.
when i first used soundsense and the song was playing, i was absolutely flashed, as i remembered it, but couldn't guess the band until they began singing in the metal part  :)
also a biiiiig thank you for this awesome tool - i never play without it!

A number of songs were removed due to restrictive licenses. Considering Rhapsody is a major band, that was probably one of them.

It used to play during world gen. Now it doesn't.
