What a waste to send that Sibyl with a bunch of hawks on a secret mission, eh EuchreJack?

Mission Impossible failed.

Next time, I send the Sibyl alone...

Keboseidon, in the great dream void where he resides, called down to the mortal realm for all Midgard troops to lay down their arms and embrace the coming age of serpents.
The sudden, if not unexpected, influx of tourists from the Land of the Serpent spelled a good year for Midgard's Cultural Department. Agrotourism flourished in the country, while all the hardworking, but extremely shy, skinshifters stayed indoors and watched the commotion outside the cities' walls with childish curiosity.
The visitors were a strange and queer-looking folk, dressed in gaily robes and weird armour. Farbaute, our great Einhere, said he saw a talking hydra and a sea-dog magus among them, but everyone knows that Farbaute likes mead too much, so we're rather doubtful about that.
As more and more Pythians came, Super Janitor-Man announced that a great concerto is going to be organized for all of the tourists to attend. All the good folk of Midgard welcomed the news with joy, as it's been a while since the Electric Light Orchestra played at home - lately it's been busy doing tours in Marignon and Jomon.

Have any janitors been robbing banks lately?  How the heck did you get your income to go up like that?  Teach me!  Or is that from conquering Jomon?

I speculate Midgard also doesn't have a large standing army, relative to total area, and most of the land is basically at peace (low to zero unrest).  These factors certainly help...for now.  ;)

Super Janitor-Man inroduced the wondrous pension scheme to his people. Every hirdman is now required to pay twice his usual taxes, so that they can reap the benefits if when they survive to old age.
There was but a minimal opposition to this splendid socialistic reform - after all, everyone in Midgard remembers that when during the Marignon war S.J.-M. introduced public healthcare and associated taxes, he used to patrol and kill all the grumpy naysayers. Consecutively, 5000 republicans went to Valhalla.

ed: oh, shit. If I won't hurry up, Pythium will die of dominion deficiency. I want to fight thoe 30 something hydras!(and fail miserably, most likely)
Also, two commanders for such a huge army just begs for long-distance killing. Just saying.

Yea yea, you'll see more Pythium preachers talking about how great Keboseidon is and more commanders running around telling hydras what to do soon enough.

Haha right after I lost the battle at my capital I got a random event where a lab was built in one of my other provinces so I  was thinking "Sweet!  I'll head all my surviving mages over that way and maybe get some meager preparations ready for another battle!"

Then the turn after all the mages arrive, it randomly burns down.

In recent news, it appears that the recent importation of 11 fish was able to cause a recession in Midgard, proving the flaws of their Communist government.

Also, Dr. Necro declared that True Gods do not get themselves wet.

Shoddu, the triton lord, reflected on the last day's events. He thought about the gigantic chicken that came to Alluvia and annoyed some tritons by pecking at them. As it got stabbed in return, some warm light flickered in it's belly for a while, before the cold sea waters extinguished it with a hiss. The chicken's body immediatelly turned into a pile of goo, in which Shoddu found a small ring. It had an inscription on both the outside and the inside. The outer one said: "Ring of Water Breathing", the inner one: "Made in Tien Chi".

Also, R.I.P. Keboseidon & his wondrous Hydra Circus. Got there in time just for the last battle.
