So the last Dominions 3 game is now dead.  Some people have expressed interest in a third, so I'm creating this thread for discussion of a third game.

Dominions 3 is a turn-based strategy game where you play as a demigod, fighting other demigods in an attempt to ascend and become the one true God.  You do this through army battles, like a lot of wargames, magic (Some high level spells can lay waste to entire armies, summon nigh-unstoppable monsters, and even affect the entire world), and dominion, which is basically the spread of your influence. 

You customize your god from probably thousands of different combinations of physical forms, magic skills, and dominion effects, give him a name (Or let it generate one) and let it pick some titles for him which range from stupid (The King at the Crossroads) to awesome (Master of the Obsidian Blade) and then fight.

It's pretty awesome, although it has a very hefty price tag for its age.

I mentioned in the other game that I preferred fluffy games to cheesy games, cheese being when you use tactics that don't make sense with your faction, but are powerful in the game.  I still feel this way, but I don't really think it warrants bringing up again, unless people are dead set one way or another.

Anyway, vote on an age, post your interest and what faction you want to pick, we'll decide on a map, and when it looks like we've got a good number of players and a map ready I'll set up the llamaserver and we'll get going.

Kebooo - Pythium/Ermor/Ulm/Pangea (I'll control all four at once, ok?!)

I'd be very happy with Pythium or Ermor.  OK with Ulm or Pangea.  I don't want to play Ermor if people believe they are too powerful. 

Personally I'm fine with any cheese tactics or what not, maybe because I don't know what would or would not qualify as cheese tactics yet.  What I love about the game is all the variety and having no idea what your opponent is going to do.  Knowing X faction is going to behave a certain way would take some of that away.

By cheese I don't mean doing stuff that isn't typical for the race, I mean thinking only about winning and doing things that don't make sense in the fluff.  A Warhammer 40k example is the Plague Marines/Dual Lash Prince thing.  You're obviously not setting your army up like an army, you're setting it up like it's a game and you're here to win.

Anyway, the slashes are denoting age.  Early/Middle/Late choices.

Mid era seems out of question after the last game.
In the case of Late Age, Midgard or Tien Chi.(I don't need Pythium and their cheap stinking Hydras)

Well, it rebalances a lot of units(mostly altering the cost, rather than stats), pretender chassises(??chasses? cha... what?) and spells, some items - most notably the gem generating ones have been made unique.

Also, I'm looking at World of Warhammer, it's a little ugly zoomed in but it could work.

Also also, I noticed that there are more votes than applicants.  Please don't vote if you don't want to play, and if you vote post that you want to play.

Never done a PBEM of this game, and I'm not very good at it either, but if there's space for me I'll take Pangaea/Ulm/Man. Maybe R'lyeh if there's a lot of water. I'd like Ermor, but everyone else seems to like it too.

If you don't want random non-participants to vote, don't set up a poll.  It isn't hard to just ask people to post age preferences along with faction preference.

Personally, I'd like to see late age because nobody has done that yet on this board.  But I currently am not interested in playing, just watching.

I voted for late, since it's the only one we haven't done yet.

Anyway, I tried out conceptual balance mod.  I like what it does with construction, but I haven't played enough to see many other changes.

Once we get an era decided, I'll pick a random race, cause I'm a noob and have no preference yet.

Alright.  Since it seems like there's somewhat of a grab for Ermor, I'll put up R'lyeh or Marignon as possible alternate choices for me.

We've got five people, I wonder how many we're gonna get.

I am officially changing my Late Age Choice to Marignon.
