I remember one time serving as HoS on Red Dwarf.

One time, I was paying attention to security systems, looking around the station for any suspicious activity. Someone got hurt, and was sent to sick bay to be taken care of, and I investigated. I was convinced the guy was hurt badly and needed medical attention. Little did I know, I was conned to believe things were okay, whereas in truth, the guy patching up the injured one was actually a traitor, and I was told off successfully. I went back to perusing the halls, and then out of nowhere, I heard a series of loud bangs, and next thing I knew, I saw a demonic giant red hole ripping me away from my console and the rest of the station apart.

The guy that was being patched up, he was hurt fighting the traitor, and was loaded with meds to prevent him from revealing the traitorous nature of the guy "helping him". It didn't help that the cameras can't pick up on sound, and I had to regularly check up on them to make sure nothing was too fishy. I was apparently too gullible as HoS, but I did follow protocol to the letter. I had to pat myself on the back for that.

What happened was that they successfully generated the power source, the traitor showed his true nature to the assistant engineer; he changed his job to doctor behind my back and without my notice he was a had engineer earlier, and conned em easily. He went back to the engineering bay and sabotaged the reactor, made it crit, and turn into an out-of-control black hole.

Do you have any players yet? I've been looking for a slightly less populated server.

So I got the captain's antique gun, got into a shuttle, everything goes well.

Then, the last second before liftoff, the warden opens the shuttle, and all the air gets sucked out. I die literally a second before arrival (and mission completion).


Sides were hurt.

I take offense to all this talk of scientists not being sciency. Though I guess when I'm the only one juggling the ArtLab and Teleporter you may kind of have a point maybe, but then again I play exclusively on GS servers (specifically, #3).

Most of my best rounds revolve around drugs. My first memorable round saw me (Penis Morgan) as an assistant on Donut Station.. I was running around asplorin' the station when some crazy shit went down and the shuttle was called. Singularity was eating away at the hallway in front of Botany as I came around behind it. The botanist was there with a satchel of weed and opened the door and threw it at me.

"Take this! And make sure it gets off the station!"

Then the door closed and the singularity ate him. I wound up avoiding a hungry singularity, death by lack of oxygen, and a madman with a fire extinguisher to make sure that pot survived.

Another round saw me as the pot-growing botanist. Me and Urist McFistycuffs grew loads of pot and began dealing to people around the station. They'd come to the glass windows and knock, drop off credits, and we'd drop a container with the proper amount of pot at the back door. Then we started delivering, and Urist was running all over the place making us mad money.

And finally I was a scientist on Zeta when a chemist made some crazy space drugs. I was in ArtLab and was more than a little suspicious when he told me to eat some of these pills. I tripped balls for a little bit while I think he overdosed. Or maybe he made space drugs and poison and gave me the wrong one. Either way, he wound up dying, so I got a locker, put his corpse in it, and gave him a nice eulogy before putting the rest of the pills in his locker, closing and welding it, and after my final words ("To your last great trip."), launched him into space. He wasn't even mad that I didn't get him cloned.

AIs and borgs are most fun to play when it's malf or the AI's a traitor.

They are just easy, AIs are overly well protected these days and bots where always far to robust... sadly leads to a lot of bad players using that.

Okay, I assigned all my personal patrols as Head of Personal, told them not to clog the radio channels, and not to use excessive force. I watch as they all leave on their routes, and I head back to my office. I relax in my chair, make sure all the security records are intact...

AIs are overly well protected these days

I strongly beg to differ. Deconstruct a wall on the diagonal next to a turret, you can rush in, bash the turret a couple times, run back out so the turret closes back on, run back in to bash it more, and just keep doing that for each turret. Or an even quicker way would be to use Thermite to rush right in behind the AI, where there's likely walls to protect you from the turrets while you card or bash the AI. Or construct an AI Upload console and upload some new laws. And if all else fails, bomb your way in.

Those are just the ways i could think of off the top of my head. AI's aren't nearly as well-protected as you think.

Yeah yeah, I know...

Also. I just got my first death threat in a extended game. It rather graphically described how it was going to turn my nether regions into a coagulation of the milk protein casein.

Nova E just saved the station two and a half times in one round. Two times related to the stations power supply. Power to the Engieborgs!
