If I'm reading that right, for every turf on the station, it spawns between 50 and 3050 400 degree bombs.

Well, 4% chance per turf.
But it doesn't really matter, when 4/100 turfs have 50-3050 bombs on them.

Anyone know, without me having to dig through the source, how to make metal foam grenades?

The source code for chemicals is pretty readable actually.

To make metal foam you need:

• aluminium/iron
• foaming agent
• pacid

In a ratio of 3:1:1. These reactants need to be added to a grenade casing in beakers.
(Sorry if its a bit vague - not sure if I am allowed to reveal the secret of grenades)

In my opinion, nothing we can do in this game should actually be secret. It only encourages the formation of a class system within the community. If you think letting everybody know how to make a bomb is too dangerous, maybe we should either not make it possible to build bombs or make it harder to build one without being detected (the latter being preferable).

I was a few times on gibbed and they spamed them. Not fun...
They filled the escapeshuttle among other things.
