Well then, I hope you're broke more often!

...not that I'm wishing you ill luck, or anything... but if you having low finances correlates to me getting cheap games...  ;)

Got the Overlord complete pack, Killing Floor, and Ghost Master so far, but my internet hates me now that I'm downloading them all. It's kind of sad that this Steam sale is likely going to cause me to look for/pay for a better internet connection.

Edit: aaand I get a critical error when I try to start up Killing Floor. I hope it's just because my laptop battery died while it was downloading last night and a reinstall fixes it.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Crashes during download/install have a good chance of corrupting the files. Killing Floor is not hard on your computer, I can play it just fine with an Intel graphics card, which are about as crappy as you can get.

I bought the Introversion pack, because it was recommended. I downloaded a demo of Uplink years ago and loved it, but I couldn't remember the name. I've been looking for that game.

I'm debating getting Resident Evil 5. I tried one of their games and was disappointed, but another one was good and I love zombie games. Anyone know whether or not it's good?

I liked Eufloria but got a bit bored around the 20th level.  Decided to take a break and haven't returned yet.

It's a relaxing game.  Very abstract.  It reminds me of flOw in a few ways.

It's about half of an RTS.  There is no tech tree, almost no building construction, and no way to select what kind of units to create.  You will not have a standard build order, as the starting situation varies too much.

The levels are procedurally generated from a set of parameters, so they are semi-random, which is nice for replayability.  But the final half of each level is always the same.  Exterminate the opposition right down to the last unit.

Technically, you can zoom way in on the action, but you end up spending all your time zoomed out as far as possible because that's the only place you can control the action.  So you're looking at fights between colored pixels.

There is too much click-and-drag.  The thing that annoys me the most is that you can't set waypoints to gather newly generated units.

I spent $20 on a package deal with it and four other games I'm not interested in, and don't regret the purchase.  I bought from Cipher Prime, so I don't know if Valve made the authors put DRM into the Steam version.  Cipher Prime's doesn't have DRM.

So I picked up CS:S, The Witcher, and HL2:E2.

Installed CS:S last night, and promptly realized why it is so popular: Its a blast.

Never heard about Valve forcing someone to put DRM on it, except for Steam and VAC that is.

Steam is DRM. I'm glad they didn't force their crap into the dosbox used in the x-com they sell.

Gah... when you buy that do you have to give out the extra copies right away?

Also, what's the best way to send out a message to the steam group? Like... if I just got through playing my first couple Killing Floor games and realized it's probably easier/more fun with more people?  :P
