Some of the game packs going for 2-5 bucks might be worth it. If they're worth even 5-10 hours a game you're getting more than your money's worth.

I personally picked up a lot of games I know my current computer can't play (damn Intel graphics card) just because of the prices. I figure that once I build an actual gaming rig (something I'm planning to do within a month or two) I can download them. Picked up the complete Overlord pack as well as The Witcher, which I know for a fact is still being sold for $40 at Wal-mart. I also grabbed the Chrome 2 pack, Second Sight, The Scourge Project, the Shadowgrounds pack, and Larva Mortis because it looked a little like Crimsonland. Total cost: $30.00. That's a lot of game for the price, should be enough to play for months.

Looks like there will be even more sales over the course of the event. There are day only sales. That means we may see even more titles going up. It's like Christmas in July.

Hrmm. I'll probably pick up CS:S later today.

Thinking about getting The Witcher. Is it any good?

Not really. Unless you liked Dragon Age... It's pretty much the same with more sex, misogyny, and breasts.

Dragon Age never looked very appealing. I guess I'll rethink.

Well, I didn't like it. It was a poor rpg if you ask me.

But I just bought CSS, so that means I have a single guest pass if anyone wants. First to reply gets it.

SoulWynd hates all modern RPGs. I would suggest trying out the Witcher.

It's not similar to Dragon Age at all, besides being a 3rd person 3D RPG. It focuses more on careful planning and studying monsters before you go to fight them. The hardest difficulty is the only REAL difficulty, though, since anything under that makes all the potion making and studying kind of meaningless.

I love how Valve does all this crazy profit murdering shit almost on a weekly basis, and yet still makes more money than they are able to use on their projects. I guess that's what happens when you only have 220 people in the corporation total.

Profit murdering? For most games, the costs to distribute are extraordinarily low. Since lowering prices entices gamers to buy games that they normally wouldn't, I'm going to guess that Valve makes a killing every time they have a huge sale.

Robin Walker has even confirmed that whenever they put TF2 on sale during the Updates, they make more money than months of full price purchases(Which, admittedly is like 20 bucks).

Need a steam id and stuff.

SoulWynd hates nearly all modern RPGs games. I would suggest trying out the Witcher.
Fixed. But it's not entirely true that I hate all modern rpgs, just the crappy ones. The first kotor was alright to play once. Oblivion can be fun after extensive modding. M&B Warband is great. The UFO after series are fun to play at least once (Speaking of that, Afterlight is ultra cheap on steam). The first pirates of the caribbean game (that had nothing to do with the movie, except the lore).  7.62, despise all the bugs. And so on and on.

I just don't like it when things get too simplified or thrown in a RPS scheme.

Seeing as my last foray into RPGs was Oblivion, I'm just looking for something to scratch an itch. So I'm not hell bent on getting the best RPG goodness for my money.

Well, witcher can last you a while. I didn't see any other rpg on discount there that was worth mentioning. Except maybe afterlight if you liked x-com or tactical games.
