Cremation

Sooo... What does fire do to bodies? and how long does it take? I ask because I cremated my mortally wounded adventurer, and it'd be very DF for my next one to use his body as a weapon.

It leaves bones. And a skull. That's it.
A few minutes for a human. However, you wont be able to use his bones because they'd be scattered, never to be seen again.
I like how I feel like an expert dead body burner.

Would it be possible to retire an adventurer in a town while he's on fire, and then bring in another adventurer just in time for him to die?

Isn't there a 1 year gap between actions(starting a new/continuing a fort/adventurer) so that they always start the first day of spring? You're better off letting them bleed out or drown so the corpse is in one piece.

the time gap is a lot shorter for adventurers its days not the year for a fort.

Just get him killed in a town and set his corpse on fire.

Either wait for the fire to burn out, or just be an adventurer wielding an !!adventurer!!

That's an interesting question. If you retire him while he's on fire, does he stay on fire?

This must be tested.

Fairly sure the fire goes out and you're left with a horribly scarred adventurer.

But by all means, proceed for Science.

actually i have two stories of fire

i was trying new ways to killa a bronze colossus, trying to burn it, and i ran into ignited trees, it spammed "you are melting!" quite a bit

the other stroy was that i statrted in a human townand two minutes later a heat wave came and killed everybody, i mean EVERYBODY.. it spammed "Urist McHumanHunter has bled to death"

:| i picture it like that one scene in the terminator when the bomb goes off and everyone turns to bones

I tried to test this, but after retiring and restarting, I realized that my adventurer was never really on fire, just melting.
