I play on the ## rooms many times. I wish there were rooms with less asshats in them though.

Yeah, was bouncing between servers in various ## rooms today. Occasionally things were interesting, but probably every other room I ran into had half th'thing not speaking English and a different half (There was overlap, heh) not really knowing what they were doing -- which isn't really a problem, if they're trying, but a lot, well, weren't. Or intentionally sabotaging things, which is fine -- providing it's inconsistent or amusing (and it was often neither for 2-3 meeces). Still, enjoyable game is enjoyable, et al, so I'm not really complaining, just had a bit of a poor luck streak.

It was terribly disturbing to see me being one of th'better walljumpers/shammies, though. Anyway, maybe I can get repeatedly outclassed tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

So...  This is a game based on physics bugs and the inability for internet gamers to cooperate with each other?

Entertaining to watch, but the clientele seems a little too lolnub for my tastes.

Most of the stages are based around certain principles/theories/thought experiments in psychology, philosophy, game theory, etc. You can see it occasionally, if you know what to look for (or are bothering to pay attention, heh.). S'more of a demonstration of th'whole 'a person is smart, people are stupid' thing than anything else, though. Usually, anyway.

Playing in a small room with folks you know/are at least vaguely acquainted with tends to be a much different experience than playing with 50-60 strange mice, and mucking around while a shaman can be interesting regardless if you're fond of 'physics' puzzles. A lot depends on th'room's make up anyway, of course.

But yeah. Was in room 1 on EN1 for a while just now. Had up to 67 mice at one time, was pretty intense. Made 2nd once :P Was mostly just watching (and occasionally participating in) homicide, though.

Elaborate on what philosophies 'different levels' of Transformice are based around, specifically, please.

Anyone found a real use for balloon and rune? I opened a room to test them, and found:

1. Rune's strength is pretty low... and if it collides with something, it changes direction (to keep it from changing direction anchor it to something).

2. Balloon is hard to use, due to not able to accurately anchor it to something's center of gravity. Also lifting power is not very great.

The best I can think of is a plank, add one two runes to same direction (e.g. left or right), then add one more directly up - flying carpet. It has sufficient strength for a single mouse on a long plank, but only barely.

I saw somebody successfully make a balloon lift/airship. He used an anchored rune at the bottom to constantly steer it towards where he wanted it to go.

How did he balance the plank? There will be mice moving and jumping all the time. If you use a plank or plank with two walls, it is very likely to tip over. If you make a sealed box, then you have to somehow get all the non-troll mice listen to you and stay inside, and break it apart later without killing any...

A bowl shape would probably work well for that.

Imo, best airship is a small plank on the bottom. attach a big box to one end with a C joint in the direction you want to go. Attach a small plank to the other side at and 75 degree angle with a C joint. Then attach a balloon halfway between where the two planks meet and the box, then another one at the tip of the 75 degree plank. Then just push on the box as the ship rises to move. To get off, jump if you can, or summon more balloons so they rise higher and pop
