I expect to continue on fixing things, with a bit of adventurer skills stuff thrown in.

July should be an interesting month.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

It's been on Toady's to-do list for awhile - was on top of the top10 vote list for a long time. It was nice when I got an email back about adventure mode skills when I asked a question with my last donation. And with more adventurer skills shall see another donation :)

I know, but I didn't expect him to start on it before he was done polishing up the last wad of new features.

I'd enjoy reading that email, if it's the kind of thing that can be publicly posted.

I'd love to see the email too. Sound's like there will actually be a purpose to adventure mode now.

Will the ability to use workshops and manufacture goods be included in this? It wasn't mentioned in the list of future developments that i found. (and lsot now :P), It just said there would be skills in general.

As far as I recall, adventurer skills should eventualy allow us to dig, chop trees, and butcher annimals, but also set up our own mini-fortresses where we can stash stuff and possibly do some production as well.

According to what's left of the development page, herbalism will probably be the first one we get due to shrubs already being interactable, followed by some way of getting resources from dead critters (meat appears to be a priority, skin and bones might not be available immediately). Digging and woodcutting and making things out of sticks and stones will be a bit later.

Cue massive SQUEE from me.

Really, anything that improves the adventurer mode stuff will be awesome.

Been wanting this since DF first released, and I saw what adventure mode was - digging out a little hobbit hole, setting up a craftshop, hunting for good materials and selling my wares to passing merchants. Then dropping a boulder on a thief. So many possibilities. I'd like to see buildings expanded to handle improvements to items, and more detailed item construction in general before workshops are added - it makes sense to be able to have more choice for what you're engraving/decorating as an adventurer, versus the individualistic dwarves. But digging, farming, constructions, mechanical stuffs, etc., hell yes! <3

I am excited for being able to actually cure wounds now in adventure mode, no more worrying about a bone that "needs setting" or an infection now.
