A small ocean planet is ok early on as a farm planet. Later it can be made into a small tech base.

Ultra Poor is only good for A) Large ocean or terran style planets for farming or B) Research stations. So, while you *might* decide to do something with that ultra poor barren planet of yours, it's not worth looking at any time soon.

Ultra poor is a problem. The speed at which you can build anything there is cut in a third (thus it will take three times as long to build a Research Lab). Nixitos II is not worth the cost at this stage in the game. At all. Later in it might be worth it, but not right now.

Yian II's food problem is easy to solve.
1: Create a planet dedecated to food. And build enough freighters.
2: Get Terraforming.
3: Get soil enrichment.

Yian II is still the best planet you can colonize right now.

Also: In case you didn't know, you don't need colony ships for building colones in a system with an existing colony. Colony bases, which can be built at planets, are effectively colony ship that can only colonize a planet in the same system. However, the base is much cheaper to build.

Yeah, I know, but it either takes a lot of money or a lot of time or both. And Pelenor is a one-planet system and Yian I and Nixitos II are worthless. Also, I already have a colony ship, so that's good.
For what it's worth, as long as you can plant some colonies, it should extend your scouting range. Not all useless planets are useless.

Outposts are much cheaper. While still extending range.

Also, MC Dirty: You don't need to scout. Due to Omniscient. Everything is already revealed.

Not to be mean, but you seem so helpless playing this. :P

Low morale generally effects production, farming, and research negativity. Not by a lot, but it can hurt. On the other hand, high morale positively effects them.

What I would do in the food situation is this:
Make Gary I's single population unit a farmer.
Convert the last of Nixitos I's Scientists into a worker.
  Build a Freighter.
Convert one of Nixitos I's workers into a farmer.
Convert Gary I's single population unit into whatever you want.

Problem solved!

I am. That's why I asked for help. Thanks for the tips! But is the one production thing really worth giving up a farmer?
Depends. Do you want to get a new colony ship up quicker or not? Besides, what would you use the food for?

Food transfer is instant.

I just realized I'm a bit confused on the "one production thing". I never said to convert a farmer into someone else. Who's being converted into a worker again? ???

Lack of food causes planets to starve. AKA it kills off population until the population reaches 1 or they have sufficient food to feed their now lowered population.

Science is important, but science should always be second to expanding. So once you've got Yian II, you should start researching. You should also start building Housing on Nixitos I instead of trade goods if you aren't building anything. More people>More money. Get that people factory started.

Also: Watching Video 1 again shows that Lesath I is a Gaia planet (8:37). Though it's guarded by a fierce space monster. Just thought you should know (if you didn't already know).
