Experiments in biases and prejudices.
« on: June 20, 2010, 04:16:08 pm »

Hey guys, I'm running a series of experiments to help understand how the human mind makes decisions.

Experiment 1 - Number from 1-10.

Don't you want to know why people make their choice?

Numbers are preeeeetty.

I am deciding NOT to pick a number.

Sorry Ein. Here on Bay12 we don't make decisions unless those decisions involve magma and boiling flesh.

I picked seven because I thought it would be the most picked number. I was right!

If it's one to five then 3 will probably be the most picked. Also people seem to prefer picking odd numbers.

I choose 9. I like 9. Not sure why.

I really don't think this 'experiment' will tell you much about the way people make decisions.

Seven is weird like that.

It's the number of Yahweh. Now we're all going to explode in freak lightning bolt accidents.

Okay, it's less why they make the decisions and more what decisions they make.
Everything else I need to know can be extrapolated later.

Besides, if you ask people, they usually won't know why they made that particular decision.

I voted 10 because I like 10. It's nine steps away from the loneliest number.
