I've got a master-level strand extractor migrant. Considering how slowly he's increasing his skill while extracting my meagre stock of Fun ore, I'm really curious just how many forts he's been in to have leveled up his skill that high... and why he _left_ all those forts in the end. He's got a story to tell I'm sure.

If I Recall Correctly you can get Legendary folks, too. I don't know if those can arrive in the first wave, or if you have to wait a few years... probably totally random so you might get lucky? Anyway, Expert something migrant shouldn't be an especially rare event, depending on your world and other things, of course. I don't get any migrants at all, for example, because my fort is a "death trap", or so the occasional message says. And the few I got decades ago... well, they were what they were. You see, I upped the savagery on my world, so there's hardly any civilized folks around at all. Oh well. Keeps the freeloader migrants at bay at least (because they are all eaten by the wildlife! HAHAHA!)

I dream of Legendary Armorsmiths. I suppose the absolute best a man could hope for is a Legendary Armorsmith with a fancy for adamantine?

Not a migrant necessarily but I did a randomized 'Play Now!' embark a while back and my expedition leader was a high master wound dresser/suturer/bone setter/diagnostician, along with a adequate cook, brewer, leatherworker and tanning and then novice weaver, clothier, carpenter, armorsmith, weaponsmith, herbalist, then a slew of social skills.

the fort later crashed before I could save :(

A lvl 15 weaponsmith/armorsmith is always welcome in my humble home.

I've had both high master weaponsmiths and armoursmiths come to my fort. I think my best ever immigrant had "high master" in the fighting-related skills and lasher, as well as expert and above in most of the medical skills.

I've quite a few legendary dwarf migrants, sadly most of them were useless ( legendary fish dissector and trapper in particular)

Also got a high master weapon/armorsmith, can't really complain ;)

Legendary Weaponsmith, who was also a competent Cheesemaker for some reason, along with a slew of other random useless things.

Ahh, all my people died when the water froze over... tantrum spiral and my fort could have continued too! My last two people were a miner and a farmer migrant that came along in the last wave, my miner hit the farmer in the arm, so i made the miner doctor the farmer as well as he could but he could only put him on a hospital bed since i hadn't made wells on this save yet... the miner died from dehydration and the seasons changed and the farmer stayed until the fortress crumbled D: the 2 best doctors were along the first to go...

I haven't had anything really lucky yet, since I don't play that often right now. (Tending to RL stuff or non-DF forms of entertainment)

So far, I'm one of those people who only gets High Masters in stuff like Fish Dissection and Furnace Operating. Especially Fish Dissection.

Bronze Dog has been feeling rather happy lately. He is fond of scimitars, black bronze, turquoise, and kobolds for their underdog status.
