The Epic of Bjorn Bone-Breaker: Sovereign of Tarth[/u]
The woman approached us early this morning. She offered us her services and said she could get gold from almost anywhere. I thought she was either a thief, a witch or a fool maker. She wanted a mere thirty gold to join us, so I made sure to get a blood oath from her.
Then she went and found one hundred gildar from some statue. I like her already.
(( Raline gives us two gold per turn, since she's got the merchant background. She'll make us our gold back in fifteen turns, and has already stopped the slow loss of 0.4 gold a turn from our two troops. ))After that, she took herself to a nearby inn to rest her dainty little witchthief feet. Some mainland thane offered her a reward if she'd escort his pathetic son back to his estate (a man being escorted by a woman! PAH! What a pansy), and she accepted. I would've torn his head from his shoulders and shoved a brown longship down his neck, but I am not her.
She also discovered an easy harbour nearby, where ships may settle. This may prove useful.
Whilst she did that, we, the men, decided to hunt towards the other side of her, where we found a grove of trees laden with fruits and another safe harbour. The oasis behind us would probably provide us with more food, but we'd have to FARM for that.
I also found a longsword. I like it, it is heavy and long like my other weapon.
The witchthief escorted the pansy back to his Clanhouse, where he gave her a BOOK in payment. The place disappeared before her, she claims, or I would have returned myself to demand blood. A BOOK! What use is such a thing?
We met up with her after seeing that the end of the land was a dead end. We could probably settle near the Oasis. I can tell this is a good place. One of my kinsmen argued with me, shouting it was far too hot here for those of us with fair skin, but I know there is something I can do about that. I made him eat the stonedust at my feet for his arrogance, however. He will not do it again.
I suspect Raline wants me, too. No woman can resist my charms.
(( Yes, I made decisions without you. =p You have a choice of settling near the Oasis (It's a good idea, trust me) or moving onwards. You also get to choose what to name the city. AND whether or not marry Raline. She'll bear us lots of children. ))This land sucks. Pillage the inn, then see what that woman is up to. Then start scouting around until we find something more hospitable than this blasted desert.
(( The whole world is a desert. It's basically post magical apocalypse. ))
