@Itnetlolor:
Great work.
How long did it took you to draw it.
Sorry, I've been out all day.

I think, considering the area to work with, and the amount of lead on paper, it took me a decent 2-3 hours to make it.

Pic something you like the look of and study it. Even if its women. Especially if its women. In fact, ive been studying some fine images recently (and i mean this in the cleanest sense possible, honestly) and its really amazing what you find.
I like bigger girls, not fat but not thin. Girls with hips and thighs, etc. Anyway, after a sudden bout of inspiration ive taken it upon myself to study the curvature of the body. Not necessarily the cliche hourglass shape, but the shapes come from a folded leg, the spine through the skin, etc.
Once you finally understand something, it'll become second nature to you. After a while i'll begin to beable to draw beautiful people without needing a reference point. I'll beable to draw all of these gorgeous flowing shapes freehand and see what comes out of it (at this point, im past the fact that im drawing inspiration from porn. Its about the flow, the shapes and the lines. I think its amazing).

Here are a few of my studies, but keep in mind ive only recently (say a week or so) began. So far these are only traces from images ive found, and yes i know they are very easy to do. Im just looking for patterns at the moment.

If you're serious you could always get a small USB tablet (mine looks like this) and draw on the computer. With a half-decent program it means you can experiment with different tools and colours without having to buy a lot of quality art supplies. Plus you can undo. :D

They can be pretty expensive but I've been using mine for 8+ years or so, so you get your money's worth.

What do the finished pictures look like?
Never heard of that technology.

@Mishy:
Sounds like a good idead.
I've always been horrible at drawing people.

Well, the pens are usually pressure-sensative and mine has a functioning eraser on the other end.
What it looks like depends a lot on what tools in the program you're using. Uh...examples.

This and this I did with my tablet.

As for programs, Photoshop is good but there's also free alternatives like GIMP. I tend to use openCanvas 3, which is a bit more low-tech but has features I like.

If you're serious about learning how to draw I'd refrain from doing anime/manga, simply because it's an exaggerated stylization of the human form that really requires you to have a good grasp of anatomy, proportion, and perspective to look anywhere decent. Starting with it will most likely instill bad habits that will be hard to break later if and when you decide to draw the human figure from life.

But, if it's something that interests you and will keep you drawing I guess you should go for it. When I first became interested in drawing when I was about five or six I'd just trace images of WWII planes until I could do it without tracing. Eventually I was just be able to draw whatever plane was in my head. Obviously I did that because I liked WWII planes and I found out I liked drawing because of it. If anime/manga does that for you then you should feed into that to motivate yourself, but don't neglect learning how to draw the human form properly.

Regardless, whatever you end up doing the only way you improve is by practicing.

That looks totally awesome.
I always wondered how people were drawing on their PCs.

I'll might get one, once I'll get better at drawing.

@Davion:
Yeah I noticed that.
I'll probably should refrain from them, until I'll get the hang of the human proportions.

Now that I have some time, I'll play some more Dwarf Fortress.
Normally this is a good source of inspiration.

Pencil, paper, human form. When you can draw my avatar, get back to me.

I should probably have my head checked, because I find myself in complete agreement with Nikov.

my sister draws MUCH and she only 12 and she can it do DAMN WELL. but anyway

Search some topic that you want to draw like Nature,Anime,Humans robots anything! My sis draws Manga for that instance.
Take a good pencil and some good drawing paper, there are different kinds of paper that are better for drawing the same is for pencils.
Start sketching something from the topic you chose, it may come out crappy but don't give up. Start by giving more advanced forms like eyes,hair,mouth leaves etc. Now look at what could be done better and if you don't know go to youtube for drawing vids or search on google my sister did that 2. repeat those steps until you are satisfied on paper and then learn to color it in, with shadings,Depth etc. do it and hang it up somewhere in your room or house. And do it again and again and look back at the previous drawings you made to watch as you get better in drawing. You can always take it advanced by taking a computer draw thingy (forgot name) my sister does that also and the results are awesome. 1 good company that sells them is Bamboo. ut for that you have to look at guides on the internet as i do not know much about it.
