Personally, I don't think he's going to care that much when he wakes up. Could you imagine if they expected him to treat it like his actual wife? If they have a law that says you have to marry whatever animal you happen to be in close proximity to whilst naked then it's not too big of a stretch to imagine they have a law wherein the husband and wife must share a bed.
