Ok, so sometime next weekend I'm wanting to host something other than our TF2 games, and what better way to do it than by playing a FREE RTS that is both awesome and spectacularly cool.

This game can host UP TO 64 PLAYERS PER MATCH! So, theres going to be pleeenty of shooties happening.

Yeah, i think the event will be around 7PM GMT+0 Next weekend (20th or something) (basically the UK timezone)

Notes:
This game is a hell'ov'a'lotta fun, its not demanding by any standards and has extremely high replayability.
It also has a direct control mode
I think we won't go directly for a 64 player game... no way we could fill it, but there is 16 player maps that are good (also there is an ability to commander share, meaning more than one player per ingame team)

Possible problems: Internet connections will be our biggest problem in organising something like this, so I'll be conducting tests over their lobby system and ingame.

I know I would love to play some Total Annihilation. I tried playing Spring but it was a bit troublesome to get a version and map coherent with everyone else.

My timezone is GMT +1

I highly recommend people who don't know of TA to try this as well. The learning curve is steep but its fun to even watch experienced players duke it out between themselves while cowering in some crater.

Alkso, I got a 100kb upstream, which si enough to host a 8v8 with at least 1k units per player. What you people got?

Not entirely sure actually, we have a 50mb/s connection here, so I'd probably say about a 2mb/s upload...

I used to have spring, and loved watching replays of games. But it just became cumbersome to update the thing so freaking often.

I suck at RTS that demand constant resource gathering inflation. So yeah, i didn't do well with spring.
