If anyone's interested, I'm planning on hosting a series of chicken defense games on th'morrow. When they're up, th'game'll be Bay12Chicken, pass dwarf.
For those spring folk that haven't gotten around to trying it, the Chicken Defense mods are basically defense scenarios; AI spawns an ever increasing number of stronger and stronger critters, ultimately culminating in an fairly bloody huge boss monster. Proactive players can influence numbers and th'time frames involved, but that's the core of it.
They're meant to be played co-operatively, human vs computer, from what I understand something like four against th'horde, but the game scales to th'number of players, so any amount is fine. Lower difficulty levels are playable solo even for puny players like me, but even normal kicks me around. I've not tried hard or greater (or heavily tweaked custom settings), but if folks think th'lower difficulties are too easy, it's simple enough to crank up th'volume.
In deference to th'predominately BA playing crowd, I'll be starting off with the Balanced Annihilation version (
Which you can get here. Requires BA 7.12 to function). If enough folks are willing, I'd be happy to swap over to th'CA version (which is a bit easier than the BA one, imo), or the XTA or NOTA equivalents (Fleas and Spacebugs, respectively), none of which requires mods outside their base ones.
I'll edit this post when th'servers up tomorrow. Probably start around 10-11 AM CST (-6 GMT) and keep going until I get sleepy.
EDIT: It's goin' up.
EDIT: And it's down. Won some, lost some, thanks to those that showed up. Had a couple pretty nice ones. Not really enough people to keep going, though, so I'm out.
