Hmm, those are some nice tips...

Also, we need a host. Current one is doing WE, which I dont even have close to downloaded. Id appreciate it if someone hosted in the next 2 hours or so.  :)

"Fake Edit" Ein...

It's possible to play singleplayer to get the hang of it. When you launch spring (make sure the BA mod is in the mod folder for spring) click 'start lobby' (or start the lobby.exe thing)

Then click singleplayer, enable the mods, make sure you have a map available, then you can add AI and such. It's kinda confusing at first....

Finely, my strategy(after playing a total of three games). Randomly build resource buildings, build a few contruction thingies, build tons of defences, and rely on allies for energy.  8)

Yeah you will never win any game by building defences only... Of course losing is fun, but...

That was my second game. :-\

Your army got blown to bits in a few seconds, im not sure what your point is.  Chain reactions are fun;)

Plus, I was guarding our southern shoreline, and had to build defences to do that. A lot of my metal was going to you guys, and lag would have made it hard to organize an army.....of course, if we had that match again, I would build an army, I just had to get myself aquanted with the game.
Yeah you will never win any game by building defences only... Of course losing is fun, but...

I was going to throw a couple nukes at the enemy,  but gladiators came a few minutes too quick. I was relying on my allies for the army, since as I said, I lagged like crazy.

Guys, have you considered Complete Annihilation? I've been trying it out recently and holy hell it is a lot more impressive then Balanced Annihilation. Let me list down the features:

Quote
- Looks a lot prettier

- VERY much nicer interface. I.e: Each time you have an additional factory, the game will add a factory icon by your screen so you can remote control them without having to click on a factory.

- Extremely easy transport AI. It automates, transports, and makes your life so much easier.

- Units and buildings have voices and combat chatter. It's sexy too. I can't get enough of clicking the fusion reactor.

- VISIBLE FOG OF WAR... also visible radar, radar jammer, and cloak field layouts.

- Far more balanced. Each faction is very unique now and it's silly to spam units as each unit serves a very specialized role. No fear though, as you can space + click every unit or building to see what it was meant to do. There's no more spamming metal makers (there aren't any) but if you build a "power grid" that extends to your metal extractors, they extract more mass depending on how much power is in the grid.

- Can play as the chicken faction.

- New experimentals and experimental superweapons. I just used a giant super mining laser that floats above the battlefield.

- No need to micro. In fact, your units will do it for you. For example, when you have a group of scouts fighting a heavy tank, the scouts will automatically zig zag around the tank, then start circle strafing it.

- Wind generation is dependant on elevation.

- Radar is blocked by elevation, so building radar towers on hills actually serves a purpose now.

- A heck of a lot more units. Units can gain promotions on the battlefield and then upgrade into "better" units on the field itself.

- You can build everything from the get go, no need to tech up.

- Commander is not useless. He can upgrade himself into different forms such as combat commander or building commander. He also doesn't detonate into a nuke any more either.

- You can build more commanders.

- No waiting around the early game, you can set in the options many different ways to start, including setting down all the buildings you want within certain parameters before the game begins.

- All constructor units and nanotowers will automatically reclaim / repair / assist if they have nothing to do. You can turn this off to for specific units if you really want them to do nothing.

- You can set retreat safe zones, where units whose health fall below a certain percentage (which you can set per unit or per factory where units come out from) will retreat to that area. If you have engineers or nanotowers there, they will be automatically repaired.

- There's physics in the game now. If your transport gets shot down over enemy troops, any unlucky unit underneath the transport will get squished by the falling cargo... unless the cargo is a really small unit.

- King of the hill mode

- There are hard counters to every unit.

- JUMPJETS. JUMPJETTING COMMANDERS!!!!!

- Lots lots lots more stuff.

Info is here: http://trac.caspring.org/wiki/CaIntro
Download is here: http://packages.caspring.org/builds/
Unit list is here (or you can read them in game as you space + click units): http://trac.caspring.org/wiki/UnitGuide
General guides are here: http://trac.caspring.org/wiki/Manual

Edit:
Quote
Examples of units:
Nova (formerly ARM)
Nova favors mobility, range and affordability. Its Commanders should try to take an indirect approach whenever possible.

- Dragonfly - Stealthy Armed Transport
Not only can the Dragonfly haul any land unit in the game, it is also armed with a paralyzer cannon to support its airdrops. If intercepted midflight, it will eject its cargo, which falls to the ground - potentially squashing anything underneath.

- Reef - Aircraft Carrier (Bombardment) & Anti-Nuke
The most versatile ship on the high seas, the carrier serves several functions. It is equpped with cruise missiles for long range bombardment. Its anti-missile system safeguards the fleet from the threat of nuclear missiles, and it also serves as a mobile repair base for friendly aircraft. Perhaps most notably, the carrier provides its own complement of surface attack drones to engage targets.

Logos (formerly CORE)
The Logos' doctrine dictates that Commanders should make the most out of the Logos' superiority in firepower and defense by executing direct attacks and attacking the opponent with brute force.

- Pyro - Raider Jumpjet Walker
The Pyro is a cheap, fast walker with a flamethrower. The flamethrower deals incredible damage to large targets but little damage to small ones. It can hit multiple targets at the same time. The Pyro explodes violently when it is destroyed. The Pyro's weapons set targets aflame. Additionally, Pyros also come with jetpacks, allowing them to jump over obstacles or get the drop on enemies.

- Zenith - Meteor Controller

Eh, there are a few things (like wind and radar and fog of war, most of which I swear were in the original TA), but I'm not sure about most of the other extras.

Plus, as mentioned before, its constantly getting updated, which means constant new downloads....

TA had wind, radar, sonar, and fog of war.  Which TA knockoff SPRING game has the nanoturrets?

I was wondering, does the core have tachyon accelerators? Or an equivalent?

Yes, they get something better with AA and anti-swarm capability. Just shorter range.

Shorter range....hmm. The ARM is all about cloaking and quick attacks, which I cant do with a laggy connection. However, that long range tachyon is useful...I will have to test that CORE weapon in a skirmish.

Also, if anyone was concidering it, I would join if you put a server up.
