Fuzzy, the only difference between us is I read the wiki for exploits.

Somewhat related: I voted for DURRR in the poll, in lack of a better option. However, I'd be glad for a HERPDERP option, but DURRR was the closest to my thoughts. What about you?

I read the wiki, but not for exploits. lol

Also, I'm going to try some unorthodox things. I think you guys will like the way I'm making the enterance.

I don't trust you LS. I read the Sparkgear resurrection topic.

Make a lava moat, Fuzzy. And War Elephants are good. Also, can I get a second turn at the end of the list? I want to fix the damage LordSlopoke will do.

So I'm already getting some decent reputation here, eh? Feels good man.

Fuzzy, mate, mind making those epically huge pics somewhat smaller? Crop the extraneous stuff, and focus on what's important. If you don't know how, I can do it, though I assume you do.  :-X

I could, but aren't spoiler tags enough?

Also, I'm running at 14(6) FPS right now off Embark. I usually play with a high cpu priority on it, but trying to use notepad and paint at the same time...I had DT up but I killed it and gained 2 FPS. Please help me.

Did you turn off weather? It never seemed to work for me, but y'know, anything'd work. I can't think of any other things you could do, besides simply turning off EVERYTHING you have on your computer besides DF, paint, and notepad. But chances are you've done that already.

Honestly, I'm considering giving up my turn because a 4x4 area with a brook is killing my computer. Do you guys want me to put up the save from what I have, or do you guys just want to start up from a new spot?

Well, nested spoiler tags apparently don't work (which made the OP excessively long for a brief moment.)

And I already set the map params to try and be as smooth-playing as possible; only thing I should've done is maybe made it a pocket world. Oh well. And I feel your pain, in 40d I get ~15 average fps.

Have you set your init file for best fps? turn of temp, weather, up the priority, render mode 2D, changing GFPS (lower is generally better, I heard. 30 works well for me, default seems to be 50.)

I still have temp and weather on and i'd rather not turn them off. It just feels...wierd. Since this isn't going to work, I guess I'm dropping out. You guys might as well just use a new spot since my save has nothing done but a little digging. When I get my brand new awesome computer in like 3 weeks, can I get a turn again? :P

Sorry Fuzzy. In that case, I guess I'll go first; Marzen, you'll be second to fix my "oopsies" I guess. I've been itching to start a new fort anyhow...

EDIT: Stay tuned for updates! Genning a new world now. We'll be living in "The Realm of Dragons" which sounds promising. Our starting year will be 736 UD (Urist Domini). Lets see what we can find...

Too bad it didn't work out, Fuzzy. I know you know this, but you really should invest in some RAM. It doesn't cost that much, hahah.

I get 40 FPS in a fort with 80 dwarfs in 2010, so I'm all fine with that aspect. Go ahead, Snook. I'll follow after you.
