Uruguay-Ghana game was amazing. The godhand of Suarez was a heroic sacrifice.

Meh, Argentina keeps trying to nick the Falklands from us.

It's Obviously ours! it's not like it's just off the coast of Argentina or anything.

Germany vs. Spain and Uruguay vs. The Netherlands, eh?

I'm predicting that the Finals will be Germany vs. Uruguay, myself. The Octopus will triumph!

IMO, out of the remaining 3, Uruguay's probably the only ones who could hold down the German counter-attack. They've got a team about as strong as the Netherlands, with poorer finishing but a careful game. Spain and Netherlands seem to let their guards down a little from what I've watched, and Germany always hits hard when that happens.

I think Brazil would've really hurt Germany, but then again, I thought that Argentina could beat them.

Look at it this way. The Falklands are wet, dreary and grey. It's obvious they're part of Britain.

Well judging from the absolute shite that was Spain vs. Paraguay (although tense, with 3 penalties and one hell of a pisstake of a goal)

I reckon that unless Spain step thier game up SEVERAL notches, They'll get absolutely pasted. Even if Cassilas is awesome.

And guys, lets face it, International squads are just 22 individuals. They can't play together no matter what because they just don't have the time to 'settle in' and all want to be the hero and score loads of goals and put the crucial goal in to win the WC blah blah blah, stupid Football, pisses me off.

And speaking of pissing me off, England are shocking! Its is an old game, but the way we played against the USA, they deserved to win, even if they didn't particularly stand out either..

Is it that hard for some of the top players of the Premier League that score goals for fun every Saturday for their clubs to score ONE FUCKING GOAL FOR THEIR COUNTRY?
Not that it matters, Germany will win, judging from the performances of them and the other teams.

And for all you Brits, (and Germans, I suppose) - The ball did go over the line. 2 feet over the line. I'm sure the crowd could have waited at most, 10 seconds for the 4th official to check whether it was a goal or not, any display it on a screen.

Wow. Yeah, I've never seen that before but it pretty clearly did go over the line.

I don't know that much about soccer, is there a rule where it has to stop bouncing even after it's hit the ground?

Nope, just the entire ball needs to cross the vertical plane of the goal.

Clearly it went over the line.  No one with any sense denies that.  Sepp Blatter even said he would open the book on goal-line technologies again.  That's huge coming from him.

Why was it claimed that it wasn't? I wasn't really following the cup. Not to any great extent.

I assume neither of the officials had a good view of it during the game.  The linesman should have had a good view, but was apparently too far back.  I don't know of anyone who would claim it wasn't over the line after the fact.

Netherlands FTW  :D

The first game of theirs that was worth watching, in any case, and my vocal chords suffered accordingly.

With a little luck, it'll be Netherlands-Germany in the finals. A classic, as the rivalry between us is still ubiquitous.
At least, if Urugay doesn't clobber us.

With a little help from the hand of Dios God I am sure they could prevail.    8)

Also I thought that New Zealand's draws were far more impressive. Especially against Italy.

Yes I registered just to post this.
