In the group state the four teams play a round-robin - a tie gets you 1 point and a win 3.  The two with highest points advance to the next round.

If, after all six games, two teams are tied, then the first tie-breaking criterion is goal difference.  For each team, take the total number of goals scored and subtract from the the total number of goals allowed.  Higher is better here.

If the teams have the same number of points and the same goal difference, they look at the total number of goals scored.

If two teams are equal there as well, the head-to-head result between these two teams is used.

If that was a tie as well, FIFA draws lots.

If a group had nothing but 0-0 draws, the entire group would be determined by drawing lots  :o

Heh.

As far as I can tell, the US will go through to the next round as long as they win.  Same applies to England and Slovenia.  If England and America draw... oh god.  Fifa better keep those lots ready.

(the US is ahead at the moment though, since they've scored 3 goals to England's 1).

Actually, I don't think England and America can tie in overall standings.  Let's say they both win.  Then the one that wins by a higher margin will be first and the other will take second.

If they win by the same margin, the US will be ahead by total goals scored.

Ah, quite true.  The would require some extraordinary draws.  But I'm sure the teams are up to it!

American football = Rugby for little girls

EDIT: Proving the point.

I would like to invite you to play with our American Football players with or without pads.
Back before there was more medical knowledge, they would have to guide their defenders to the line because they couldn't see a damn thing, because they had such a bad concussion. Then they would keep playing.
I'm not an  American football fan or a patriot, but any given game of professional American football has hits much more gruesome hits than any of those in that video.

It doesn't matter how concussed American Football players get. They don't have a player break a game in almost EVERY game, the way Rugby does.

By breaking a game, what in the world do you mean?

Is it possible to develop dyslexia over time? I meant to say bone, not game.

Yesterday, I typed Desmond Tutu's name backwards on Wikipedia.

Okay, so I was reading the first few pages, and I saw the thing about Vietnam. Learn your history, Brit-landers-Vietnam was 'officially' our first loss. We were doing fine, but some government dumb-fucks went 'HURR DURR LETS END IT FOR NO REAL REASON' and ended the war. We were going to win, but the government pulled us out.

Since when did Vietnam resemble a victory? It looked a whole lot like people handing soldiers exploding babies.

The Tet offensive showed that the Vietnamese really could not beat us at their best in a military setting, so taking a wise page from the Art of War they did what they could to make it a PR nightmare. And won because of it. Alt-

Wait, no. Nonono. This is not about Vietnam. This is about the world cut and those goddam horns. I will strange the dude that invented them, and stab the dude that mass produces them.
