There are entirely too much Spanish heritage on this thread all the sudden...

No soy estadounidense.
Yo soy Americano!

Seriously! We dominate the Northern continent. Canada agrees with us (or at least doesn't argue), so live with it!

American football is just start-stop-start-stop, quick tempo in short bursts. They're like US commercials: fast and loud. It's what the USians like.
As a USian, I feel qualified to tell you that not everything needs to be fast and loud to be interesting in the U.S.. In fact, I myself prefer running, which is fast and silent. Nobody runs a loud race, and it's still fun.

To me (American) the soccer players all kind of run together and the ball moves back and forth across the field, dragging the players with it. It never goes into the goal, it just goes back and forth. It's really not any fun for me to watch. It's really fun to play, but I don't like watching it.

Basketball you focus on the guy with the ball, and the defender, and in your peripheral vision you see what everyone else is doing. The ball keeps moving and everyone has to do their job or a weak spot opens up and you can see it all happening. IMO it's the rapid changing of score, possession, and lead that makes it interesting.

But it's like that in soccer, too. They're just spaced out more.

I hope that my invention of Death Track involving tar beneath the runners that is quickly burning towards them in a wall of fire will bring about many sales of your fine product.

Best sport ever? Shooting skeet. I shot 20/22 at Scout camp once, and my father's jaw was on the floor.

Poor guy. Guess he was standing too close on one of the two misses.

Oh no, I was merely generalising, I'm not qualified to encompass the interests of an entire continent into one or two sentences :)

People in the US like golf as well, which is slow and silent. The "average" man probably doesn't, though.

It was against North Korea. Which means the NK goalkeeper's family was probably ground up and fed to the rest of the team.

NK television actually played that game live too.  I wonder how long it took for them to cut it off...

if feel sorry for NK they might have got through to the last 16 if they wernt in the group of death. They could probs beat England. I an hour and 30mins i get to watch our boys worm their way in the last 16, or fail miserably. SK qualified but i doubt they'l make the quarters.

More importantly England defeated the aussie scum in an ODI yesterday (even if the series is purly a money spinner). long live cricket

No, NK is a horrible team, they just did decent vs Brazil because they played the most horrible bunker in history of football.

NK had like 7 men in the box against Brazil, lol. Maicon scored an absolutely amazing goal seeing how they were just back there doing nothing. I'm surprised NK is even in group matches at all.

Heh... back on the OP topic, I find it hilarious that USA won 1-1, 3-3, and if they keep winning like this, they'll actually make it to the next stage, above rivals England  ;D
