I'm trying to make a storyfort for a stranded island, but I can't figure out how to mod out caravans.

Anyone know how to lose the caravans?

Also, does setting the pop cap to 7 allow no immigrants??

You could just set pop cap to zero. For no caravans for sure. A stranded island that takes up the whole screen with water on all sides should do the trick. I think the way it works is if there is enough land touching the edge of the map you can get a dwarf caravan.

The pop cap must be atleast 10 or else the immigrants will still arrive to 200 dwarves I think.

If nobody has access to pack animals or wagon pullers, they won't send traders. I think.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

I think that the best solution would be to mod the main entity so it dies out in worldgen.

You'll still be able to embark with your initial seven, but you won't get any migrants or caravans.

I think it's a vastly amusing thought that elephants are so afraid of heights that when Dwarves invented the Z-axis, they couldn't bear to face dwarves in combat anymore.

This works. I find that giving megabeasts damblock of 100+ and tripling their size would wipe out most civilized creatures during world gen.

Sure, that would work. If you managed to find an island that fits completely on a single embark square. If even one of the sides touches the edge, you will get dwarven caravans and migrants. Dwarves can get just about anywhere. Not to mention that the significantly oversized embark zone would cause lag issues.

I'm pretty sure that you wouldnt be able to embark at a location that your civ cant get to.

Yes, you can embark on an island that is completely surrounded by water.

It however would be a little tough to find an island smaller than 8x8 though.

I've seen plenty of one tile region islands.

I'll generate a couple worlds, and if none of them have single-embark islands, I'll mod out the dwarven civ. Thanks for the help guys.
