I've been interested in trying out GO. So I'll run through a tutorial, and try to jump in to some games on KGS.

Good man, current bay12ers on there include myself (arneb), eduren, de5me7, jampet & tima, so add us to your buddy list, and be sure to give us a holler.

The Marx generator will produce Engels-waves which should allow the inherently unstable isotope of Leninium to undergo a rapid Stalinisation in mere trockoseconds.

Ok, I've added all of you. I'm finding the lack of structure kind of intimidating so far, but hopefully I'll get comfortable soon and have some satisfying games.

I added everyone too.  I also find it rather intimidating, but the few games I have played in the past I have found simply fascinating.

Might try and play a game or two this evening.

Waitwaitwait there are other Bay 12ers playing Go??

What kind of grades are you?  I'm somewhere around 15 kyu (13 on a good day).  I did win the Under 12s British Championship once (and then someone about twice as good as me flattened me in the next year.  Bah).  The way I test my kyu is by playing my instructor with varying handicaps (argh, I beat him on 5 stones once...).

My name on KGS is Leafsnail.  Bear in mind that, in a handicap game, I play ridiculously aggressively.

Oh, hey Leafy.

I'm currently 15kyu. But since I only started playing a few weeks ago, that could probably be changing. Name on KGS is Eduren, add me.

That's the sign of an abusive boyfriend, Toony... you don't have to listen to him.

Cool.

I could probably play a quickish 9x9 roundabout now.  I've got some tournament games scheduled for this week, could do with the practise :P.

Hrmmm.

I asked a moderator about the room, but he says that they need someone that has been registered for 3 months. Anybody here fit that?

I've been registered that long, but haven't played many games.  I could have a look.

Ex-1 dan here. Probably like 10kyu right now. When does everyone usually play?

I registered as Uristqwrty (Qwertyuiopas was far too long, backup name of Uristqwerty was one character too long still...)

Virroken, I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm in Australia, which usually means I'm playing at around 2 a.m. American time. That said, I've managed to get a couple of games in by staying up past midnight :p

Also, I give you the ultimate tactic, the Nuclear Tesuji.

Sadly, that technique can't be used over the internet.
