he had sente (is that the right word) so i was reacting to him. from here i would counter any attacks he made probably linking up my groups where there are week points. So if pushed: g13,f12. M15, l15. A8, A7. H3,j3. this would make all my groups alive and give him no way of making his stones within my territory alive. I got a score estimate after he resigned an it put me 18 a head. Which isnt much. If not pressed to defend i would expand out from R 7 area and possibly make some territory.

I call it my best win because it was the hardest fought so far, i chewed my fingers quite abit. He nearly connected with his bottom left corner and almost killed groups at j5, and H9.

edit: one question i have is, would he have won if he had never invaded? he had a lot of territory cornered off, it might have out numbered mine.

The way I see it, if you made a wrong move, he still could of won. What would you next move of been?

White is pretty screwed there. The middle white group can only form one eye max, and every black group is undeniably alive. What could de5me7 have possibly done to lose that?

Japanese or Chinese rules? By Japanese, you're destroying him. By Chinese, you have a decent lead.

Heh, I was looking at that, and thinking you were probably lucky to get a resgination... then I noticed you had stopped him linking up at O10  ;D That was well done De5me7, you're a dragon slayer now.

16k get down.

KGS seems to hand out ranks like there no tommorrow. I beat a 17kyu and get bumped from an already optimistic 18 to 16.

It slows down the further you go. Anyone can get to 16k with a little practice, and 10k with a little practice coupled with some theory. Play long enough, and you should end up in the low kyus. However, if you want to get past 2k (seems to be the limit on kgs, probably closer to 5k in the real world), you need either to be either a go prodigy, or a hell of a lot of tutoring by a dan.

yeh im not too fussed about ever making Dan, or even getting much past 10kyu.

got thrashed by a 15kyu today. His opening wernt great but he was much better at life and death than me.

yeah the ranking is really oddly fast i got 16 kyu in 2 games from 21, both were against equally ranked players.

the second game was rather odd in how fast he resigned as i cannot figure myself having that much of a lead looking at it, do you guys see anything?

im black btw

i assume the big black empty stair-case structure is where you just took 11 stones from him...
I would say it would be difficult for the white stones immendiately southwest of that to survive.. [As long as you didn't make too many mistakes]. Once you had taken that, you would of had a rather large advantage.. I wouldn't say beyond doubt that you would win, but he must of thought he had little to no chance based upon how well you were doing at that point...
I would certainly say black had a huge advantage..

Go seems rather too complicated for me. I learned how to play Omok, but not Go.

Maybe I should try it again, I dunno.

Go really isn't that complicated... Just plays lots of games with people better then you and you will get better, preferably with them giving you advice.. I think thats the funnest way to learn it. There are tons of books on basic go problems, as well as the http://www.goproblems.com/ website.. and i understand everyone says you should read them or the website and just do tons and tons of them, but i don't really enjoy doing that.
