Mac - Can't seem to change resolution
« on: June 13, 2010, 06:16:26 pm »

I'm on a MPB w/ a 22" display.  I played version 0.28.181.40d for a while and decided to give 0.31.06 a try.  I can't figure out how to change the resolution.  I set it to fullscreen mode first.  My entire display (well, both the MBP screen and the monitor) were black except for a small portion of the upper left hand corner of the monitor which contained the game.  I'm guessing it was 800x600.

Then I tried playing with the window size calculator (http://pkf.olivepeak.com/dwarfcalc.html) and none of the settings did anything.  For example, I tried the default tile size with a windowed resolution of 1280x960:

[WINDOWED:YES]
[BLACK_SPACE:YES]
[GRID:160:80]
[WINDOWEDX:1280]
[WINDOWEDY:960]

And all it did was make the "window" (the black portion) take up a large section of my screen (I'm guessing 1280x960) but the game itself only ran in the upper left hand corner of that black section and in the default resolution (640x300).

I feel like either I'm missing something pretty fundamental here (likely) or there's an issue w/ DF on Mac's (probably less likely).  :D

That does the same thing as changing the X and Y - the screen gets bigger (increasing the amount of black space) but the game playing area stays the same size.

As for zooming in, I may do that. :D

Ok, it turns out I *was* missing something fundamental - the size of the game during the beginning menus are not indicative of the game as a whole.  I decided to just go ahead and start a game and after embarking the game widened to fit the screen and looks great.
