The fighter is correct.
The bomber is incorrect. He meant 5+(4/2)=7, not (5+4)/2 = 4.5.
Thus, to calculate (Regular industry cost)(Points)/(Size Limit):
Regular industry cost is 2 defense + (6 engines/2) + (4 cargo/2) = 7
Points = 2 def + (6 engines/2) + 4 cargo = 9
Size Limit = 4
(7*9)/4=15.75
Double that, then round, to get 32.

In addition, I'm pretty sure you can't receive Size Limits 4 from RAM without researching Size Limits 3 first.

If need be I am willing to trade both size limits 3 and 4, it is only a single research point...
Although this was the main reason I asked for a price check on the trade...

Four days and 14 hours have past (the original "deadline" was supposed to be 5 days).
I propose that in three days, anyone who has 1) not sent in a turn and 2) not engaged in diplomacy for 24 hours will be summarily booted. No exceptions.

Star Ruler came out today, so no turn tonight. Hopefully I'll get a turn out tomorrow.

An interesting proposal. However, if people are even slower about getting a turn in then I am about making the turns, then they deserve a skip.

Still think that the Bomber math is still wrong though, but I will go with it...

Wait...

-Any unit may be marked as a carrier/transporter. Each point of carrier space is one point of space that may carry anything and refuel planes. It costs 1 unit point but only .5 industry.

What does that mean when it comes to the maths???

7+7/8= multiplied by two because it is a bomber
15+6/8=
16 industry for a fourteen industry unit

Note that to carry a conventional coloniser you need 5 cargo, 3 for the 3 armour, and 2 for the 1 land engine.

1 Cargo = 1 size and 1/2 an industry point

Looking at Cheddarius' maths indicates that the calculation was based upon the assumption that either you have level 2 size limits tech, or bombers gain 1 size limit per point of technology. I believe that fighters and missiles get 1 point of size limit per point of size limit technology, but that bombers gain 2 points of size limit per point of size limit technology.

Mind if I look at your turn to check for myself? It would be a bit improper for your next-door neighbour to be doing that...

Anyway, Neyvn, can you update your turn for that? And for having to research Size Limits 3?


Neyvn, it is divided by 8 because 8 is your Size Limit. We assume you have Size Limits 4; bombers get 2 size limit for every level of Size Limits Technology.

Making for example a unit with my tech...

Land
2/3/0/3 = 2+3+6= 11*11= 121/16 = 8IP
Sea
2/3/0/3 = 2+3+3= 8*8 = 64/32 = 2IP
Space
2/3/0/3 = 2+3+3 = 8*8 = 64/64 = 1IP

And THAT is if I am UNDERSTANDING this properly... (though I might be reading something wrong for sea and space)

It only applies when you exceed the limit. If you don't, you just add up the points normally. So:
Land
2/3/0/3 = 2+3+6 = 11
Sea
2/3/0/3 = 2+3+3 = 8
Space
2/3/0/3 = 2+3+3 = 8

(Assuming, of course, that you have all the applicable technologies)
